| The Cons The Story State of Emergency offers two modes to play. One being Revolution, which is the story mode of the game. The concept is good because it places you as a new recruit in a rebel faction, being assigned with missions to complete. This is where the game loses a lot of enjoyment. In this mode, you are limited to what you can do, as opposed to the Chaos mode, or Freestyle like mode, where you have unlimited freedom to do whatever you want, as you should be able to in a game like this. The Replay Value Although, the game can keep you playing for hours, after a week or two the game gets kinda repetitive and boring. It wont take long before all the set High Scores are in your name. Also, the fact that there are only four levels also degrades the replay value. In The End All in all, to put it bluntly, State of Emergency is a great game to RENT, not to buy. The replay value is what drags the game down. I purchased it when it came out, and didnt touch it for months after the first two weeks I had it. I dont regret buying it because SoE is one of those games that you pick up and start playing again after a few months of not playing it. But I think the games negative aspects outweigh the positive ones, causing me to give this game a score of 7.5. |
