SOCOM US NAVY SEALS Review by BILLY
OVERVIEW
You are an elite SEAL Commander aimed to complete 12 missions ranging from Intel-recon to rescue and extraction. The story is based on terrorists trying to formulate biological warfare using resources, Intel and money from different parts of the globe. It's up to you to prevent biological warfare from being manufactured using strategy and three other SEALs, all of whom you can "control" with given orders.
PROS
SOCOM has one of the best graphics for this type of game play. I wouldn't say that it has THE best graphics, but I think it goes real well with the game. Control of the SEALs, for the most part is pretty easy. I would say that you would have to play the game for about 5-10 minutes to get a good feel of the controls. The sounds used in the game are simply brilliant. With the use of the HEADSET, ambient sounds will spill from your TV (or STEREO), while "live" chatter from your squad and HQ (headquarters) emits from the HEADSET. This little bit of realism intensifies the missions, and also adds that "COOL" aspect that some gamers, as myself, look for in a game. I also noticed that HEADSET accessory was built to acknowledge different types of voices. For example, giving commands in your REGULAR tone of voice will work, rather than trying to sound like a fricking robot. Also, I did find quite enjoyable, was the fact that my 5 year old daughter was able to use the HEADSET without any problems, hence forth, the HEADSET was able to understand her language, when times I couldn't. The FMVs are nicely done and "warm you up" for the mission and task(s) at hand. The game play is really bitchin', theres just something about filling bad guys with bullets I cant get enough of. The character movements were done really well. Fluidity is this games major factor. |
