Spider-Man
Spider-Man

With the rebirth of Spider-Mania due to the release of the summer blockbuster movie, Activision unleashes Spider-Man for the PS2, Xbox, and the GameCube, hoping to match the awesomeness of the movie to the game.  Of course, everyone knows the story of Peter Parker and the radioactive spider, so theres no need to tell you what the story of the game is.  No need to go into detail, so read on!

The Pros

The New Elements

This wouldnt be much of a video game if it stayed true to the movies storyline.  So, of course, there must be new villains and objectives thrown into the mix.  New enemies such as The Vulture, Shocker, and Kraven the Hunter (Xbox only) offer a challenge in Spider-Man.  Not to mention, the baddest bad guy of all, The Green Goblin, of whom you will battle with in the super cool aerial battles.  The aerial battles take place above the city and give you a lot more room to maneuver and battle, as opposed to fighting enemies on the ground.

The Levels

I truly enjoyed the city levels in Spider-Man.  Not only do the cityscapes look great, but you are given the opportunity to basically go anywhere you want, offering a sense of freedom within the game.  Although the web swinging is a little insipid and tasteless, it is pretty cool to swing from rooftop to rooftop and crawl on buildings.
