Final Fantasy Tactics

Story:

The Lion War had the potential to devastate the land of Ivalice. Delita Hyral ended it within a year and became king. Historical records say Delita was the man who ended the war. Another youth, Ramza Beoulve, who's part in stopping the war was never recorded, was overlooked by the history books. Final Fantasy Tactics is shown through the actions of Ramza so his part in the Lion War can now be told. The game deals with war, political struggles, kidnapping, murder, corruption, and framing. Not to mention deciept, backstabbing, and possession. Final Fantasy Tactics is the darker side of Final Fantasy. A sad tale of friends and brothers fighting each other and using entire nations for personal gain, all the while being controlled by unseen forces.

Graphics: 7/10

At the time, standard graphics. Normal for strategy games, but not anything spectacular.

Sound: 6/10

A good musical score for a medieval setting, but the sound effects are a bit weak.

Control: 10/10

Amazing. No lag, no confusion. Simple, user friendly, gets everything done.

Interface: 10/10

Always there. Your HP is shown, you can check movement and firing range beforehand. When an attack is initiated, you can see the hit percentage, the damage it will do, and the attacker and defender's HP before you make your move.

Difficulty: ----

Varies. At first, it is hard, gets easier, and at the end gets harder again. You have full control over the difficulty of this game. Getting a Wizard with Bold 2 early on will make the beginning easier, especially the desert base. When T.G. Cid joins, the game gets INCREDIBLY easy, if you choose to use him. I cannot rate this because the user has so much control over it.

Load Speed: 6/10

Doesn't take long, but it's not exactly speedy.

Effects: 6/10

Pretty average. Nothing special at all. The summons are quite bland, but some other abilities (Cloud's limit skills come to mind) are REALLY pretty.

Overall: 9.7/10

A great game. The graphics and sound effects are a little below par, but it looks and feels like a strategy game, so that is excused. The battles and superb story (best in any game) really drive it.

JSG's Thoughts:

Do you like Ogrebattle? Do you like Final Fantasy? If you like a solid battle system and one of the best stories ever written, you should get this game fo' sheezy. It has great customization and utilizes the godly JOB SYSTEM! ^.^ I just wish you could control your character outside of battle. At least there's no world map to deal with.

BUUUUUUYYYYYYYYYY TACTIIIIIIIICCCCCSSSS NOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
