When I went down to the Oasis to check on my sweet Opium I was surprised to see another Egyptan with her. A beautiful white and blue Egyptan which I automatically knew to be a breeze. They laid together and gazed into a beautiful nest of the softest leaves from the oasis. I leaned over from my perch on the dune and gazed into the nest. Inside lay 6 white cocoons all varying in sizes. Suddenly I tumbled over the edge of the dune and landed infront of the couple. They stared at me, and all I could do was stare back. The Breeze male was giving me an odd look and Opium was shaking her head with a smile. She giggled and nodded.
*Yes, Ravyn, I've mated and I have my very own nest. I know you'll do wonderful with one, so why don't you take one and care for it?* Opium inquired softly.
"I can?" I smiled looking upon the cocoons like a child in a candyshop, ready to chose one when I realized I'd never asked the male his name. I looked at the Breeze and tilted my head. "Oh. Forgive me, whats your name?"
The Breeze smiled and chuckled softly. *My name is Glowing Breezie.* With that I nodded and gave him my thanks and reached for a cocoon. It was the smallest one in the nest, probably a runt. My love for difference amongst things had awarded me Opium perhaps this cocoon would award me another? So I lifted the cocoon and held it to my breast and smiled at Opium and her lovely new mate Glowing Breezie. I said my good byes and returned home.
At home I quietly tended to the cocoon, setting up a nest for it on the window seat near my bed and watched as the prisms from icicles outside my window danced upon the small cocoon. The prisms were hypnotizing and I'd soon fallen asleep.
When I awoke the sun was slowly rising, casting a magnificent swirl of pinks, blues and oranges upon the sky above and a beautiful flock of multicoloured birds, in a spectrum of hues as varrius as the colours of the rising sun. A gust of wind blew across the trees and seemed to even stir the sky as the flock wheeled in the direction of the wind. To myself the words came "The desert sun rose with ease / and the birds danced 'pon an iris breeze." Iris Breeze. I laughed at what I'd come up with and nodded. I'd call the cocoon Iris Breeze when it hatched. Blendenbrise...it was beautiful and I couldn't wait to see her hatch. How I knew it was a her I didn't know.
I sat there lost in thought for only a minute or so more until a soft voice spoke in my head. *Whats a Blendenbrise, Mommy?* The words were echoed with a gentle whine beside me and a soft nose nuzzle my arm. I spun looked over and there beside me was the most beautiful Egyptan ever and a note beside it.
