When He Who Is brought the Universe into being with a great big bang, He set up certain parameters for it to follow as time began to unfold.

Matter, energy, space and time conforming to those parameters eventually brought the creation of worlds; among them, All Elfin.

After a period of unknown duration, He Who Is decided to place upon this pretty world a race of beings capable of self-cognizance and recognition of He who Is.

He spoke His Word onto our world and there stood before him the First Couple. Gently He Who Is led them about their new home, explaining to them the plants and animals thereof and their duties to this fine world, to each other and to He Who Is.

He asked of them only that they come to Him for instructions before undertaking any changes in the world. This the First Couple agreed to do and right gladly, for they had no concept in and of themselves as to how their world should be changed.

It came to pass that a stranger, unknown to the First Couple, came to them one day and asked why they had not altered the course of a certain river in order to give life-giving water to the desert nearby. He pointed out to them that such a change would surely benefit All Elfin as it would make available more fertile land for more creatures to dwell upon. He asked them if their neglect of this obviously needed change was due to ignorance or to inability.

The male answered him thus, "We do not see a need to change the river as the desert has a place in our world and we would not remove it without first asking He Who Is if such a change would truly be beneficial."

The stranger then asked, "Do you do nothing without that one's sayso? Have you no ideas of your own? Can you not think for yourselves? Are you fools then? Or do you not care enough about your fine world to be bothered making it better?"

The female looked askance at the stranger and said to him, " You are the fool, oh stranger. We know what is best for All Elfin. What is best for All Elfin is whatever He Who Is SAYS is best and nothing else! Be you gone from this world. We will heed you not."

And turning to the male she admonished him, "Ask of He Who Is the name and reason for being here of this stranger and if we may remove him from All Elfin."

And the male did as his Bondmate had requested. He Who Is came before them and rebuked the stranger saying, "Get ye hence from this my world and nor shall ye return to it!" With a loud wail, the stranger disappeared from All Elfin and was never seen there again.

The First Couple then asked He Who Is, "Great One, please, why did he come here and what did he mean? And why have you forever banished him from this world?"

He Who Is spoke.

"Know my Elfin Children that he is Evil Incarnate and had he been successful in causing you to make the river change its course, he would have had power over you all the days of your world. But because you admonished him, because you refused his suggestion, because you heeded not his insults, but asked for my help instead; he has lost you and your world for all time. You are mine now and forever." And with those words He Who Is blessed the First Couple with the gifts Elfin enjoy to this day and returned to His place of Being. And the First Couple returned to caring for their world according to the wishes of He Who Is. And that is why we call ourselves the Unfallen.
