| Mommy BASIC FACTS: Mommy was born on November 7 in Laramie, Wyoming. But she mostly grew up in Arvada, Colorado and Overland Park, Kansas. She attended Bringham Young University and received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. HOW SHE MET MY DAD: After graduation, she decided to take a job in Monterrey, Mexico to teach American children. My mom knew no Spanish then. But soon she met some good friends that taught her Spanish. One of her new friends was my future Aunt Rosie. Aunt or Tia Rosie thought my mom should meet my dad, so my mom finally agreed. They met at the local church and started dating. My parents ended up getting married and got sealed in the Mesa Arizona temple CURRENT NEWS: Mom is busy teaching Spanish at a private Jewish school, but she loves it. She's been spending a lot of time babysitting boxers too. One belongs to Meredith and Jared and the other to Krystalle. |
| Papi BASIC FACTS: Papi was born on April 20 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. That is where he lived all of his life until he met my mom and moved to the United States. He was going to school in Monterrey, but continued his education at a variety of community colleges to learn English and receive a degree to find a good job. His family still lives in Mexico and he misses them a lot. JOINING THE CHURCH: When my father was about 10 years old his father started taking the missionary discussions. My grandfather, Raul, gained a testimony of the church but did not want to be baptized. Instead, he asked my father to lead the family and become a member. Since then, my father gained his own testimony of the church and became a strong faithful member. One thing he taught our family through example is to always be loyal to the Church no matter what adversity you encounter in life. CURRENT NEWS: Papi has a lot of new hobbies. He is collecting the new state quarters from both mints. He likes to karoke to mariachi music. Plus, he's been playing around with his facial hair. Once even shaving off his mustache! The family had never seen Papi without his mustache but luckily, he grew it back. |
