In high school I changed my 'look' three times, which I think is lower than average. First, I was a very unaware freshman who knew nothing about fashion or anything like that. When I was a sophomore, I caught on but I decided to be somewhat punkish (it's less expensive that way). My final change was during my senior year where I moved more towards the 'normal' but still had some wierd things going on like dyed blue-black hair with a bleached streak (somewhat unintentional).
During high school I was learning what I was good at, and came across acting. I loved it. I was pretty good at it. In the beginning, I wanted to do comedy but quickly learned I was more of the dramatic type. I shouldn't have been that surprised since I always was quietly a drama queen. I didn't find acting until I was a junior. Before then, I was one of the football managers! I still think that's funny. But, it gave me something to do and now I don't have to pretend like I know the rules of football like other girls do. I also tried my hand in the marching band (takes too much coordination), track and field (realized I didn't like running in a circle in the cold), cheerleading (discovered you had to have gymnastics training), and art (wasn't too bad but not that great either).
My dreams for the future while I was in high school changed slowly. As a freshman, I wanted to become a rich single woman living in a cute apartment. That was it. By the time I was a senior, I wanted to be a famous actress, which I thought would be impossible so my real option was to become an international businesswoman with a husband and maybe a kid or two but I would be traveling so much that I wouldn't feel like a housewife. Luckily, I decided that a businesswoman really meant working on a computer in a cubicle all day long so I decided to be a broadcast journalist... combining practical with the impratical. And that's what I studied in college! |
