Sunderland Mk II Powered by
pegasus XVIII with two-stage superchargers, tail turret was changed to
an FN.4A turret that retained the four 7.7 millimeter guns of its predecessor,
but provided twice the ammunition capacity, with a total of 1,000 rounds
per gun, late production Mark IIs also had a FN.7 dorsal turret, mounted
offset to the right just behind the wings, and fitted with twin 7.7 millimeter
machine guns, replacing the hand-held guns mounted in the fuselage ports

Sunderland Mk III Improved
planning bottom, with Vee-type main step smoothly faired to reduce drag
in the air, improved lateral armament (VGOs or Brownings in escape hatches
in galley compartments),
