Goodbye

Casey Jones

You started out as a friend of a friend,
But I knew there would be more.
As time went one, our friendship grew,
We went out once, for a week or two.
Someone old became new,
Interrupting our coupledom.
It didn't last long, old flames burn out quickly.
A month I hung it solo,
Jealousy took over when I saw you with other girls.
The time came, I admitted my feelings continued to long after you.
You needed time, and then you became mine once more.
Two teens completely opposite,
Everyone thought we'd last.
The first couple of months was great.
Change in you came, I tried to ignore it but no, the spark bcame dull.
We drifted apart but attempted to last.
After the 4th month, it was over,
The flame was gone, along went you.
Once again you needed space and only lies could you give me.
Now you're with someone new,
I don't feel jealous anymore.
It took me a week to get over the break up, you an hour?  a day?
Now you're an ass with an attitude of revenge.
Suddenly everything is my fault.
We used to be friends but now we're not even aquaintences.
You bring your new gal to one of the team's games,
Even though you hate the sport.
Little do you know the truth behind the lies,
The real reason we broke up and why you brought your new squeeze to the game.
