[2006.01.30-31 Promotion Video Filming Report]

KAT-TUN -- First day @ studio

2 days from now, KAT-TUN will be shooting their Promotion Video [Real Face].  They'd just finished a musical play [DREAMBOYS] on 29 January, and they had a press conference with 500 invited guests right afterwards.  Hard work as it may seems, everyone came to the studio without a tiring face, as if all the tight schedule were never there.

Once they arrived, they headed to the canteen for breakfast.  The first arrived at the canteen were Taguchi, Kamenashi, Ueda.  All 3 had picked Japanese style breakfast.  Then Kamenashi talked with staff about the design of T-shirt and concert goods.  He was into a working mode already.

Then Tanaka and Nakamaru, who had already changed the costume, came in.  Both of them picked Japanese style breakfast as well.  For the time being, Nakamaru has been studying Korean, so he talked to staff about it.  But when Tanaka heard it, he said "That's wrong.  The pronunciation is like this.." then staff asked surprisingly "how come Tanaka knows Korean?"  ... "Becasue I often have to help Nakamaru with Korean exercises and I naturally remember it."

Shooting on the first day

The first scene is in black and red costume.  The theme of this PV is COOL & WILD, and will start with WILD set first.

They started from the beginning of the song, the ballad verse.  The movement of 6 members were informed, and then rehearsed. All members checked the monitor everytime the director said cut.
   "It should be a bit faster here"
   "Watch out for this move"
Once they had the last confirmation, the shooting started.

After they finished shooting as a group, they shot in different angles.  While they were waiting, all 6 members talked and played in KAT-TUN way.  Tanaka and Nakamaru were still talking about Korean..... and staff couldn't help laughing while looking at KAT-TUN

Solo cut

After lunch is a solo cut.  Start from Kame & Ueda. Other members could have been resting at a dressing room, instead, they waited at the studio, in front of the monitor.  The temperature was low and had heavy snow that day.  Taguchi and Tanaka had to wear no sleeves costume.  "Although it's cold, it feels good".. they said.

Once they finished, they had a break.

Clothing - set change - End of first day

They have just shot WILD set.  And now is the time for COOL set, black and silver costume, and they would shoot in a monotone style.  The choreography would be more complicated and needed more attention in steps and tempo.  After the thorough rehearsal and confirmation, all 6 members were concentrating and the shooting was finished in a well manner.

While waiting for the next scene, Ueda played guitar on Kinki Kids [Flower] and other 5 members sang it so lively as if they were having a bon fire.  Then Akanishi proposed that everyone sings a phrase and he played guitar for the melody.  Kamenashi sang and everyone liked it and gave him big hands.

The later part, the shooting divided into 2 groups.  Akanishi - Tanaka - Nakamaru and Kamenashi - Taguchi - Ueda.  They acted naturally like an offshot.

The work since early morning of the first day had ended in the middle of the night.  KATTUN greeted staff, changed to their private clothes and went back to the hotel.  But they found dart game in the canteen.  Staff told them that they had to work early in the next day and they had to go tobed, but KATTUN asked that they wanted to play.  Each member had a throw once.  They all were energetic from the beginning to the end.

Shooting on the second day

Once everyone arrived at the studio, they continued the shooting from the day before.  It snowed again this day.  The costume was sleeveless black and silver, and KATTUN seemed to be chilling.  After they finished their breakfast, they started to warm up.  Once again, each of them sang 1 phrase, started from Jin, Koki, Yuichi.  And they said something like 'What on earth are you saying?  I don't get it" for around half an hour.  They were full of energy since the beginning of the day.

They would start shooting in monotone style, and keep changing angles.  This scene alone took 3 hours to shoot.  During this time, KATTUN started to be stressful but staff always cheered them up.

Interview shooting

It's a turn to shoot an interview part for the DVD.  Kame said [To be honest, I don't know the real feeling for this Debut yet but please keep an eye on the improvement and future of KATTUN]  Then each member talks about their feelings on REAL FACE and sent message to other members.

While one member was giving an interview, the rests could have been resting, but they all played around -- brought a camera and filmed each other.  Jin filmed Ueda on a topic [an interview of drama 'Ueda no Hanaen', starring Mr. Ueda]  and Yuichi filmed [Live report from the studio that  KATTUN is making their PV]  And they played a game 'yamanote' (a train route in tokyo) Junno had a lot of funny answers.

Then Kame and Junno played darts.  Kame said to Junno "Your arms are longer, and you have an advantage in that" ... Kame, you're afraid since the beginning? LOL  Junno won the first game, and Kame wanted to play a 2nd one but it was time to resume the shooting, so they had to end it there.

Last scene: Solo

They finally came to the last session, this was a shooting in a big tube.
   "Don't make any mistake" they said to the one who was going to be shot
   "What a pressure!  If I rapped it incorrectly, it'd be so bad" Koki said before he shot, but everything went well.
And every other members also finished their turn smoothly. The making of this PV had finished.

When each of them finished their part, they shook hand with staff and thanked them.
   "Thank you"
   "Please take care of us again next time"

After the shooting

After the 2 days of shooting, everything finished smoothly.  When everyone were about to return to Tokyo.  KATTUN were waiting at the lobby, and they had an unfinished darts game, so the resumed it.  Everyone looked happy and this PV shooting was filled with fun and memories.
