There is more to alcoholism and drug abuse than meets the eye.  A drug abuser or alcoholic is not a bad person, but rather a person with an illness who needs treatment.

If you have a problem with excessive abuse of alcohol or drugs, you don't have to be slave to it.  There is help available, and you are not alone.

There are often other problems lying behind the abuse of alcohol and/or drugs.  Remember, although drugs and alcohol may temporarily fix your problems, they only make them worse in the long run.  You can get out of the vicious downward spiral.

Talk to someone you are comfortable with or find a counsellor who can help you deal with your problem.  Staying clean is important for a safe and healthy life, as well as a successful one.

If you know someone who has a problem with drugs or alcohol, carefully approach them to suggest the possibility of recieving help.  Be prepared for anger and/or denial - don't give up.  Help is around the corner.
