This was the for sale page for my Martin M - 36 which was last heard in Sumpter, SC I sold it in the spring of '031990, all orig. excellent condition! $1700.00
Martin M-36 sn. 4952xx, The M size is essentially a size 0000 with rosewood sides and 3 piece rosewood back, bound fingerboard, bound front and back, unusual ebony fretboard w/ rosewood bridge. Low profile neck shape, 1 11/16 standard Martin neck width. Big sound! Orig. Hardshell case. This was a great sounding great playing Martin... except... Excellent minus condition defined: this guitar was played at contra and square dances, with Fingerpyx through out the mid-Atlantic States. This guitar has some wear as expected, but it has been handeled with care. If you're up close you'd notice that there is some pickwear south of the soundhole between the bridge, pickguard and sound hole and small dings from playing with microphones ... nothing through the finish. This guitar went to the dance! John Zeidler installed the Fishmangold-plus undersaddle pick-up in it... John Zeidler's bone over graphite saddle included and in the case (receipt in case). Refret, adjusted and tweaked by Martin. The neck was perfect!
Simply, the M size is just one size too big for me ... and There were these finicky things that just bugged me. BUT... I could hear a wolf-tone where the g flat and b flat just died. Martin denied it when I took it to them under warrenty. The new owner is happy.*
