Gun Control Sucks

Gun control serves no purpose other than making a cadre of weenies comfortable. There are a lot of arguments against it and I'm throwing my hat into the ring today.

ECONOMIC EFFECTS: A ban on guns and the destruction of all firearms in the United States would be an economic disaster. There is a huge, specially trained workforce that manufactures firearms for sale, and literally hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of people would lose their jobs. Besides that, Wal Mart, K-Mart, and other department stores would lose millions of dollars in revenue each year. Gunsmiths and gun store owners would lose their professions, and many would find it difficult to start over and fine new jobs. People would starve to death because of a gun ban. Is that right? Summary: A gun ban would plunge the U.S. economy into ruin.

ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS: Don't think there will be any? Consider this- the populations of deer, bear, ducks, geese, doves, and squirrels will explode. These animals will increase in population to the point where they become dangerous to humans. Thousands of people will die each year in accidents involving deer, not including other animals. Bears have no natural predators; only man controls the bear population. When the deer begin to starve to death as their populations are not controlled, the number of bears will increase, followed by a massive starvation wave as the number of bears begins to grow too large for the population of prey animals. The ecosystem in America has evolved to suit the presence of people and especially hunters, and the elimination of firearms would cause the deaths of more animals that it would prevent. Summary: A gun ban would be a disaster of epic proportions for the environment.

SOCIETAL EFFECTS: Without the chance of defending themselves, more and more people will die as a result of gun violence than do now. Criminals with guns will become more brazen, not less capable of comitting crimes. Despite the propoganda of the biased media, it has already happened in Britain and Australia. MORAL SUPPORT FOR FIREARMS RIGHTS: When you ban firearms, you trade one set of lives for another. The trade works something like this:

You'll noticed that the number of people being killed by gun violence (which will rise with a gun ban anyway) is being weighed against what is for all intents and purposes a disaster of Biblical proportions. Is it really worth it?
