Yangshuo
A small town in Guangxi Province

The town of Yangshuo is located a couple of hours away from Guilin. This quaint little town (like Guilin) looks like the inspiration of many classical chinese paintings. The mountains are gorgeous and quite mystical. The town is filled with small minority shops and western food eateries (check out Planet Yangshuo and the Hard Seat Cafe). These western food cafes not only serve some decent western style food, they are also the place to watch foreign films (since Yangshuo is very far from the capital, you can catch flicks like "Seven Years In Tibet" which is banned in China). Near Yangshuo, there are many caves to explore. Just rent a bike and ride along countryside and get a glimpse of the beauty and serenity of China. I was in the midst of a major flu during this leg of the trip and I still enjoyed the visit so you know it is a definite must visit place.

Sights to See: Moon Hill and the many caves all over the outskirts of the town.
