Personal Story for Class

This story is about the day I went to a Homecoming Dance in 2001 at Scott High School that turned out to be a very strange day.

As I awoke one Saturday morning I knew that I was about to be in for a day that was more exciting than most. I had the whole day planned out. First, I was going with my friend Andrew to get clothes since we both needed new one's. Then a trip to the Flea Market for a little while and off to work. After that I was going to go to the homecoming of my friend Myike's (that is how he spells it. No kidding) High School, Scott High School. The day started out as planned with a relatively quick trip to Kohls to get some clothes. We were in and out really quick because I, for one, do not like clothes shopping. On the way home, though, the day took a very unexpected turn. Andrew was driving down the road and went into the turning lane when out of seemingly no where a blue truck came that  smashed into his car, a Buick Century. I was a little shaken by the accident, he was mainly angry. We waited for the cops and clean-up crew to show up and take care of things. By the time all was said and done, I needed to get home and get ready to go to work. Luckily, Andrew's and my friend Nathan's mom was there and saw the accident. She took us home and thankfully we did not wreck again.  After being shook by a car accident, I was driven to work. Needless to say, I was a little tense, but I trust my mom, who drove me. After a "grueling" day of work, I went home and waited for Myike and his Grandpa to arrive to take us to the dance. We arrived there very early and walked around the Scott High School campus for a little while until more and more people, some I knew and some I didn't, began to show up. I then realized I was not properly dressed for the occasion seeing as how everyone else was in a dressed-up manner and I was pretty dressed-down compared to the rest of them. When the dance finally began, I had a good time meeting new people and reuniting with those friends who I don't talk to on a regular basis. The day was a little strange, but it made for a great conversation starter at the dance when I said, "I was in a car accident today." After all was said and done and the last dance had been danced... not by me, of course, Myike and I went home. I reflected on the day in more of a daze than anything else, but was glad that it had happened because of all the experience it gave me and, besides, I love telling stories like this.  Goodnight. Drive Safely.
