since i learned to talk, i've been making up stories to entertain mostly myself and whomever else happened to be listening. i wrote my first poem in kindergarten and have wanted to write since someone told me these strange symbols were letters which formed words, paragraphs and eventually pages.
if you've never heard of natalie kegan, i'm not a bit surprised. if my mother were still alive, even she would have no knowledge of a person with that name. natalie is a combination of my muse, and personality # 34.5. she'll walk into libraries and book stores one day, just to see her books on the shelves..
after completing my first manuscript, i was quite unpleasantly surprised to find that no matter how brilliant it is (and oh it is) that no one cares. so i sucked it up, toughed it out and finally found someone willing to talk to me. lots of hard work and paper trails later, im on the right track most of the time....other times i think the track has only to do with the indian trail my underwear blazes right up the crack of my arse. must just be the luck of the draw...or maybe i should just stop wearing underwear.
some of my favorite artists are millman, cohelo, bukowski, plath, sexton, dickenson, bronte, poe and several little known artists (who will no doubt make it big, just so i can say ''i knew him when...''), like a.s. (who grouched at me for using his name, but you can email me for a picture, his complete physical address and his net worth.) - who has had a profound impact on my life. sometimes in more ways than i care to remember, but more often in ways ill never forget.
