| As my dog and I slowly slunk back over there, The mean lady heavily rose from her chair. Not sure what she'd do, Oh, there just was no telling, We covered our ears as a shield from her yelling. She leaned on the counter...she looked in our eyes. Her following words took us both by surprise. "Dogs aren't allowed here, it's one of our rules, Just like they are not allowed in the schools. But, since I have taken a liking to you, Meet me in back at ten minutes past two." We left all the books, then we walked out the door, My dog and I sadder than ever before. We walked down the street and then 'round the block. Then both of us stood and we stared at the clock. It just wasn't fair, no, it just wasn't right. We decided to go back and put up a fight. |
