Fun Activities for All Ages
This is a partial list of activities scheduled for Family Reading Rally 2000
March 4, 2000 at Copper Mountain College. All of these activities will be held in rooms around the quad area of the campus. As more specific information becomes available, it will be added. These offerings are subject to change.

Come Read and Dance! Listen to Barn Dance by Bill Martin and John Archambault...and then learn a square dance!

Gunniwolf (A German Folk tale) Listen to the story about the little girl who sings a wolf to sleep, and then make your own stick puppets to re-tell the story!(4 sessions) Teachers Carol Calveri and Tina Walker from Palm Vista Elementary
Origami! Learn about Origami and make your own project.(2 sessions) Teacher Oghwa Ladner from Condor Elementary School
Fun with Chemistry! Learn about great  science resources while participating in a science experiment. Yucca Valley High School Chemistry Dept.
A Home for Hermit Crab by Eric Carle is the inspiration for this session, which includes a craft activity Suzette Whitfield
An Indian Prayer - Make your own landscape book and listen to Brother Eagle, Sister Sky  by Susan Jeffers Teacher Patricia Morvin from Yucca Mesa Charter School
Making Books with Children - make your own little books that you  can make at home in this hands-on  workshop Teachers Martha Snider from Twentynine Palms Elementary, and Kiela Snider-Bonelli from Joshua Tree Elementary
On Stage- Using literature as inspiration, become a character and act it out! All ages, even parents, can take on a new role! Ed Keesling, Yucca Valey Elementary School teacher and Arts Curriculum Chair Person for MUSD
