Welcome to Readers Homestead! We are pleased to welcome backpackers to experience Canada with free room and board for exchange of a few hours a day work building our farm. We understand backpacking, having met in a backpackers hostel in Scotland. After years of coming and going we are now living the dream on our own 3-arce homestead farm. It's 150 years old and located in the wilderness of New Brunswick.

It's still early days, and actually, we have tons of work ahead of us. The farmhouse is in need of repair, we need to start an organic vegetable garden, build some fences, and expand our chicken coop.
This is a brand new site, and so far I've only posted a tiny bit. Hopefully everything on the site will be up and running soon. Thanks for taking a look!

We get great sunsets on our hill! Believe it or not these two photos were taken at the same time, just in opposite directions!
Our woodstove keeps the heat on all winter! It makes the farmhouse nice and cosy.
