Read-Aloud & Islamic Story Telling is a series of interactive reading and story telling sessions initiated and organized by a group of parents in Selangor, Malaysia.
Although we emphasize on English, we are not limiting ourself in terms of language.

It is open to ALL children aged between 4 - 12 years old.  Parents participation is highly  encourage.

The sessions are held on weekends  in Klang Valley, Selangor, Malaysia.

Objective :

> to inculcate the love for reading in young children
> to promote the optimum condition where reading can take place anywhere, anytime within the family as well as community.

> teach Islamic values, akhlaq and stories from the Quran through reading and storytelling

> encourage children to associate Islam with the English language

> enhance children's confidence to converse in English

What is Read-Aloud ?

Read-Aloud is a shared - reading activity, which involved the sharing of favorite stories, rhymes and poems. It includes an adult and children in reading and rereading from an enlarged book in a positive, supportive and interactive environment.

Read-Aloud demonstrates that reading is a worthwhile practice and is seen as an enjoyable experience that focuses on making meaning from print.

The read-Aloud can help the children to enjoy stories and poems.
It conditions the child's brain to associate reading with pleasure
- creates background and knowledge
- develops children imagination
- enhances communication skills through cccconversations developed around
stories
- strengthens the bond btw adult and chilllld a provides a bridge for
communication and sharing

When children respond to reading, they learn to:
> Talk
> Think
> Share
> Compare
> Substantiate
> Extend beyond the text
> Challenge the text
> Reflect on and analyze the content

The reading session  is followed by Language Enrichment activities.
