Debra and Mike dance and talk. Debra tells Mike that the reason she stayed around to get closer to him, not because she likes the city. Bo and Carrie talk as well, Carrie tells Bo she's glad he has Billie now. Later Billie becomes a little light on her feet so Bo tells her he thinks she's had a full day and needs some rest. Billie and Bo return to their room and Bo asks her if something wrong, he feels like she has something on her mind. Billie tells him that there is something she's been debating telling him and Bo says they can swap secrets, he has something to tell her as well. Bo lets Billie go first, but he stops her and says what he has to say is more important. Bo tells Billlie he wants to make love to her, he wants to consummate their marriage. Bo tells her that he wants to forget about everything and concentrate on her, and she says she wants that more than anything. Bo then asks her what her secret was and she says it's not important and leads Bo to the bed.
Sami continues to tell Franco about her plan, she wants him to break up Mike and Debra. Debra excuses herself to powder her nose and Sami tells Franco he knows what to do. Franco says he'll do it, but it better work. Franco runs into Debra as she is returning and he apologizes, but says he did it on purpose. Debra asks why and he tells her she is a beautiful woman and he wanted to meet her. Debra tells him that she really needs to get back to her boyfriend and Franco tells her that he thought that man was in love with one of the other woman in their party, and he points to Carrie! Debra says that he doesn't know what he's saying, that woman is married. Franco assures her it seems he is love with that woman, but Debra says Mike would never fall in love with a married woman, but then she remembers her talk with Mike about him being in love with someone who got married. Franco apologizes ad then leaves, and Debra returns to Mike. Mike asks her if something is wrong and she says no. Mike says he was hoping they could go up to her room for a nightcap and she says that sounds great. Mike and Debra excuse themselves and leave Austin and Carrie at the plaza.
At the hospital Roman is coughing and he weakly tells Marlena and Eric that it means a lot to him that they are here. Marlena decides she has to increase Roman's medication, she has to take the risk. Marlena leaves the room and Roman tells Eric there is something he wants to do before he dies. Roman tells Eric that it would be easier for him to let go if he could have one thing. Eric tells his father he will do anything for him, just name it. Roman tells Eric that before he dies he wishes that he and Marlena could remarry. Suddenly Marlena comes in and she asks them what they are talking about. Eric says they were just having a father son talk. Roman begins to cough violently and Marlena tells him to hang on and she gives him medication. Eric tells Marlena John will come back with the cure, but Marlena isn't sure. She says that she feels he's still alive, but she thinks something has happened and John may not come back at all. In his sleep Roman dreams of proposing to Marlena in the hospital bed, he tells her he can give her enough love to last two lifetimes. Marlena accepts and says it is what she wants more than anything. Roman goes on to marry Marlena, and he is cured by her love. Back in reality Roman is sleeping with a smile on his face, Marlena and Eric are by his side. Carrie tells Eric to call Sami and Carrie, it looks as if...... she doesn't say the words. The medicine she gave Roman had no effect and she tells Eric that there is nothing more she can do, all anyone can do is wait for the cure. Marlena admits that even if it does arrive it could be too late, and she hugs Eric. Marlena says she has loved two men so profoundly, and she may lose them both. She says she knows she can't do anything for John, and now she can't do anything for Roman. Eric recalls his father's last wish and tells Marlena there is something she can do. Eric tells Marlena that Roman had a wish, but before he can tell her Roman wakes up. Marlena tells Roman that this may be a good time to call Sami and Carrie but Roman says no. He becomes angry and then starts to cough again.
In the Jungle Stefano, Kristen, and Hope are heading towards the helicopter and John is trying to get to the compound. A native shoots a dart at Hope, but it misses and hits a tree. Stefano then fires into the jungle and tells Hope if they don't get out of here they will be killed. Hope is positive John is out in the jungle and refuses to leave without him. Stefano tells her no, they have got to go now! Suddenly the helicopter starts to shut down! John hears this and thinks they are in trouble so he crawls back to the compound. The helicopter pilot says it will take a few minutes to repair the copter, and when Hope wants to go look for John, Stefano tells her no! Hope whines and moans and Stefano tells her if she wants to she can go. Hope asks if he will wait for her but he says she can't have it both ways, Hope knows Stefano is afraid of something she may know. The copter pilot says that he's just about ready and they begin to make preparations to leave once again. John is no in range of the copter and can see Hope and Kristen, when he's hit with a poison dart! Back at the chopper another dart is fired and Stefano order's his men to shoot at anything that moves! John stumbles out of the forest and the guards call Stefano and the gang. John passes out and Kristen and Hope try to revive him. Dr. Rolfe notices the dart in John's leg and tells them he will be dead soon anyways. Dr. Rolfe says takes the dart and says it is lined with deadly poison!
Debra asks Carrie what Mike is like, how she feels about him, etc... Carrie says that he is the most wonderful man, she's known him her whole life. Carrie says she had a crush on him at one time, but they never dated and Mike never returned her feelings. Carrie tells Debra about going to L.A. with Mike and all the adventures they had. Debra says after all they've been through, she's surprised she and Mike never got together. Carrie says that she and Mike are just friends and that Mike will always see her as the little girl next door. Debra mumbles that she guesses that guy was wrong. Mike returns and he tells Debra that her surprise is ready.
Mike has planned a romantic dinner for Debra, and Mike is surprised that the hotel staff has prepared it on the roof! Mike and Debra begin to dance to some song (I think it's the theme song to that movie "A Smile Like Yours.") Meanwhile Sami tells Franco they have to find Mike and Debra so Franco goes to see what he can find from the concierge. Franco learns that Mike and Debra are on the roof, so Sami and Franco head up there to stop anything that might be happening. On the roof Mike and Debra kiss as their dance ends. Mike asks her if she'd like to have some champagne up here, or in his room. Debra says in his room, of course. As they leave Sami and Franco show up and Franco says that they must have gone to Mike's room. Sami says this can't happen when Franco tells Sami that Mike will never break up Carrie's marriage, Sami says the only thing they can do is make Carrie realize she loves Mike. Down at the plaza Carrie wonders why seeing Mike with Debra bothered her.
At the Brady Pub, Shawn is setting up Belle's birthday party when Susan, Little Elvis, Chelsea, Brady, and Belle all show up. Belle is going to be three today. Chelsea asks about Marlena and Shawn tells them that she is with Roman.
At the hospital Marlena is clinging to Roman, saying she won't let him die. Eric tells her she's done everything she could, but Marlena says there must be something she can do. Lexie comes to check on Roman and asks Marlena and Eric to please wait outside. Abe shows up and learns about Roman, he thought John would be back by now. Abe tells them Stefano supposedly has the cure but is waiting for his pardon, which Abe is working on.
Marlena and Eric go to the pub for Belle's party, and Brady and Belle want to know when their daddy will come home. Susan sees how bad Marlena is feeling and says she's sorry for the terrible time she's going through. Susan tells Marlena she knows how she feels, Roman was her first love and she still loves him, but she's in love with John too. Susan tells her it's possible to love two men at one time, she loves Elvis but she'll always love John just a little. Susan says she knows she belongs with Elvis and Marlena just has to figure out which man she belongs with.
Caroline is sitting with Roman at the hospital. Roman asks where Marlena went and Caroline tells him she is with Belle at her birthday party. Roman tells his mom about his hopes and dreams, and how they aren't going to happen now. Caroline tells him that she is not going to lose him again and she will pray to god for a cure.
Marlena and Eric return to the hospital and Abe tells Marlena that he talked to Stefano. Abe says Stefano swears he has the cure, but Marlena thinks something is wrong if he won't let them talk to John. Caroline comes out of Roman's room and hugs Marlena. Marlena than asks Abe to call Stefano again to find out what is going on. In Roman's room, Roman tells Eric that he doesn't want him to tell his mom about his dying wish. Roman wants her to marry him for love, not pity.
In the Jungle Stefano's men bring John into the compound. As Hope is nursing John, Stefano orders his men to search the jungle for John's back pack. Stefano then tells Dr. Rolfe if he can't return to Salem all his plans are ruined! Dr. Rolfe leaves and returns with a serum that may keep John alive until they can get the bark from the tree which the poison berries that the natives used to make the poison on the darts came from, Phew! Stefano says that bark, when made into a tea will counteract the berries poison.
Abe calls Stefano and demands to talk to John now! Stefano says he's unavailable and will only get answers. Lexie asks to talk to her father and she begs Stefano to bring John and the cure back. Stefano tells her he is trying to do the right thing, but they are having problems with the local villagers. Lexie tells Stefano that Roman isn't go to survive much longer. Stefano asks her if he saves Roman will he acknowledge that he is her father? Lexie asks why he has to bargain for everything, true good is doing something without getting something in return. Stefano says he will do the best he can and hangs up.
Dr. Rolfe asks Hope and Kristen to give him a moment with John so he can examine him. Kristen tells Hope that they can't let John die, and Kristen notices Stefano is missing so she decides to go find him. Hope finds Stefano working on some funky device which he claims will buy them some time. Stefano tells Hope it is a holograph projector. Hope says she remembers this from Maison Blanche and he tells her it's never been at Mason Blanche! Stefano has his men take the projector to the compound wall and get ready to use it. Stefano is dressed up in this cellophane costume and some type of mask. The camera is aimed at Stefano, whose projection is projected into the jungle. Stefano then starts chanting and screaming, which scares the natives back into the jungle.
Back in John's room Kristen is with him, but all he is calling for is Doc. Stefano's phone begins to ring so Kristen answers it. Abe asks to speak to John now and she tells him that John has been poisoned and is dying. Marlena grabs the phone and demands to speak to John! Kristen says nothing and Marlena begs to speak to John, and Kristen says okay. Kristen places the phone to John's head and tells him it's Marlena. Marlena tells John she loves him and he says he loves her to and begins mumbling about the cure for Roman. When John collapses Kristen turns the phone off.
Hope tells Stefano that what he did was incredible, and thanks him. Suddenly Dr. Rolfe shows up with John's backpack, but there is no flower in it!
Down in the courtyard, Sister Sami and Franco are talking. He suggests she has a DRINK to calm down and she reminds him it wouldn't look good for a nun to be caught drinking (what's the legal drinking age in Italy?) She tells him she'll have a double expresso then, and he comments that should help calm her down (LOL). She knows that Debra is probably in Mike's room right now and she has to stop them before they make love.
Up in their room, Austin fills Carrie in on his call to Kate and Lucas. He tells her Sami left town to be by herself and Lucas was looking after Will (how convenient). Austin asks Carrie why she's upset and she says DEBRA (hmmm, green eyed monster??). Carrie tells Austin she had a very strange talk with Debra about Mike.
Outside Mike's room, Mike asks Debra if she's sure she wants to come in and she said tells him she is. As she walks in, he has this far away "Carrie" look. Some kissing starts up in the room. Debra steps away and tells Mike she'll be right back. He looks out the window and says "Carrie, it just wasn't meant to be", but it's going to be alright. He hears a song and says he knows it. Carrie hears it too. The song You Are so Beautiful is playing and he sees Carrie listening to it too from her window. Carrie can't figure out why that song affects her so strongly and Mike just watches her. Mike dreams that Carrie turns and talks with him and tells him the song made her realize how much she loves him. He tells her he loves her too and what should they do. Carrie tells Mike they need to go to Austin together and tell him. After he dreams that, we see Debra walking up behind him in a black slip.
Bo and Billie are kissing on the bed.
SALEM
Susan returns back to Marlena's penthouse (glad SOMEONE is using it!)
and punches in what
seems like a 10 digit code in the security system (everyone else seems
to have a 3 or 4 digit
code). She can't wait to get in her jammys and get a warm glass of milk
and start her book about
zombies called Night of the Living Zombies (she must be an x-files fan
;-) and goes off to her
room mocking a zombie with her hands straight out in front of her,
rofl. Later in her jammies
and bunny slippers, she tells Mr. and Mrs. Thunder and Lighting they may
seem close, but being
it's a security building, they can't get her..crouches on the couch and
reads her book out loud.
We see the elevator door open and a someone in a black coat walking out
of it. While reading
her book she hears noises and there's thunder and lightening in the
story as well When she reads
there's a knock at the door, and the lights goes out, she panics and
runs for the door (hey, what
about Elvis?? or the nanny???). She opens the door and the person in
the black coat walks in and
falls on her..it's Celeste and she's out like a light. Susan tells her
to open her eyes and to tell her
what in the blue blazes is going on here. Before waking up, Celeste
sees a picture of Elvis and
the baby. Celeste gets up and reminds Celeste who she is, Susan Banks.
Celeste doesn't know
why she's there, she was sleepwalking. She tells Susan she only does
that when she has a
message to give. Her dream was about the father of Susan's child and it
was a psychic vibration
from her subconscious as to where the biological father of Baby Elvis
could be. Susan brings
some sugar to Celeste and she pours it onto the tray and Celeste starts
running her fingers in it.
She draws an image in the sugar and Susan asks if this is a magic
trick. Celeste sees a vision..of
Elvis' picture again. Susan said it looks like a map..(looks more like
a snake to me. Celeste
draws an "X" and that's where Elvis' father is. Celeste said he lives
right here in Salem and they
have to go find him. (he must live on Lombard Street, cuz it's a might
curvy street). Celeste
pulls Susan out in the rain (after she threw on a beret and a coat) to
find THE house. They find
it and Celeste tells her that house has something to do with Elvis'
father.
Marlena goes to the chapel to pray. It's the darkest hour of her life. The men she loves most in her life are dying and she can't do anything to help them. She begs for their children and herself to save their daddy's. If God feels her loving both of them was wrong in his eyes, not to punish them or their children, but to punish her instead.
DA JUNGLE
Stephano is frustrated that the flower in not in John's backpack and
John's being hit by a poison
dart and will die (how many times has he tryed to kill him over the
years). In his room, John
tells Marlena he's dying and he gasp, loves her. Kristen is going to
need a chiropractor if she
keeps cranking her neck any lower to overhear their conversation on the
phone. Yelling into her
cellphone, Marlena asks John how can he be dying and she loves him.
John says don't leave me
and the connection gets dropped as he falls asleep. Kristen, hearing
they lost the connection,
hangs up the phone just before Stephano walked in. Marlena, Abe and
Lexie talk after they got
off the phone and they tell Marlena John's going to bring back the cure
(hello, he's dying).
Stephano pulls Kristen out of John's room and tells her to let Hope
comfort John (so she can't
snoop around the compound). Hope asks the doctor if there's anything
she can do, but he said
not without the bark. John's pulse is stronger since he talked with
that Doc person though (guess
Kristen fessed up about the call?). Lexie and Abe join Marlena in the
chapel to say their own
prayers.
While Marlena is in the chapel, John starts calling out for her telling her he needs her. Kristen said no more calls, but Stephano said it's the only thing keeping him alive. Kristen turns the phone off and walks out. Stephano follows and tells her to put her damn jealousy on hold and think about John's survival.
John calls again for Marlena and Dr. Rolff gets up and Hope sits by John on the bed. He opens his eyes and sees Marlena and pulls Hope onto his chest and hugs her. Hope gets up and asks Dr. Rolff what's happening. He said John's probably hallucinating and she should go along with whatever it is, as that's what's keeping him alive. John wakes up and again sees Marlena's face while looking at Hope. He touches her face and tells her he wants and needs her SO MUCH and to please make love with him, now. Kristen walks in and silently wonders what is going on.
In Carrie's room Austin asks Carrie if she's okay, Carrie says that she doesn't know why the song is so important to her. Austin says it was probably a song she danced to with an old boyfriend. Austin and Carrie start kissing on the bed when Austin surprises her with a gift, it's a locket of some sort. Carrie loves it and Austin carries her off to bed.
Down at the cafe Sami is in a pissy mood and can't believe that Mike is going to betray his love for Carrie and make love to Debra. Sami says she needs to stir up Carrie's feelings of love for Mike, but she doesn't know how to do it. Sami then sees Mike close the window and draw the drapes when an idea hits her, and she runs off. Sami return and says she's done something totally clever that is going to work like a charm.
Back in Mike's room, Debra takes Mike's shirt off and Mike slips Debra's nightgown off. Suddenly another song begins to play, which stops Mike cold. Debra asks if that is the song he danced to with Carrie. Mike is shocked and Debra asks him if Carrie is the woman he loves. Mike tells her it's true and that Carrie has no idea he loves her, and it must stay that way. Mike tells Debra he is determined to move on and Debra tells him she wants to help him. They continue to kiss but Debra stops him when she senses he's not with her. Mike apologizes and she tells him not to be, and she says Carrie made a mistake not falling for him when she had the chance.
Back in Austin and Carrie's room Carrie also hears the music and remembers dancing to it with Mike. Carrie gets out of bed and pours herself a glass of water and remembers where she heard the song, it was with Mike. Down at the plaza Sami sees both Mike and Carrie staring out of the windows of their rooms and she realizes both of them remember the song.
At the hospital Eric tells Marlena that Roman is fine, and he's sleeping. Marlena tells Eric she fears for his dad, and John. Marlena tells Eric about John's condition and Eric tells her to try calling John again. Marlena takes her cell phone out and calls, but there is no answer. Marlena and Eric go in to see Roman, who says they should go home, but they refuse. Marlena leaves Roman's side to tell Caroline the news about John. Caroline is shocked and Marlena says that she feels that this is God's way of punishing her for the affair. Caroline tells her that God has forgiven her, Roman has forgiven her, now she just has to forgive herself. Eric and Caroline leave to get food and Marlena tries once again to call John, but gets no answer. Marlena then asks God to let John survive and bring a cure for Roman back with him.
In the jungle Hope is sitting on John's bed when John looks at her and sees only Marlena. Hope goes along and tells John she is Doc and she's here for him. John tells her that he needs her and asks her to make love to him. Kristen walks in and isn't pleased with what John is saying. Kristen tries to pull Hope away from Hope but Dr. Rolfe tells her that he must be allowed to think she's Marlena, his love for her is the only thing keeping him alive. Stefano comes into the room and learns what is going on, and he tells them that they still haven't gotten the antidote. Dr. Rolfe decides to go check on the cure and Stefano tells Kristen she should let Hope do whatever she can to keep John from giving up. John is still mumbling about being with Marlena so Hope tells them they have to wait, for Roman's sake. John says he found the flower so it's okay for them to be together. Kristen yanks Hope away and says she should be playing Marlena. John grunts in pain and Hope says "Damn you Kristen!" Hope asks her how she could be so selfish and let John die because of her jealousy for Marlena. Kristen backs off and Hope returns to John's side. Dr. Rolfe finally returns with the tea that will cure him and when Kristen tries to give it to him he doesn't respond. Dr. Rolfe says they are losing him and he has to drink the tea, it's the only way. Hope asks John to drink the tea for her and he does, thinking Hope is Marlena. Kristen tells Stefano that she's sorry his plan didn't work out and Stefano says he doesn't understand how he could have failed so miserably. Kristen tells him to just go to a safe heaven and live the life he wants to live. Stefano says no, his days of running are over. Stefano says he wants a different kind of respect, and he hoped to get something that is most important to him. When Kristen says Marlena he just laughs and says he'll always love Marlena, but he had other goals in mind. Kristen asks what is more important to him then Marlena, but before he can answer Dr. Rolfe yells for them to come quickly. John is okay and is told what happened to him. John asks if they made the cure for Roman with the flower and Hope tells him they flower is gone. John says he's not leaving without that flower but Stefano tells him they are leaving when he's strong enough. John asks where Marlena is and Kristen tells him he was hallucinating, but he did talk to her on the phone. John demands to speak to Marlena so Hope gets the phone and dials Salem so John can speak with Marlena again. Marlena answers and John tells that her he's all right. John tells Marlena that it was her strength that pulled him through. Marlena asks John if he got the cure for Roman and John tells her he lost the cure, and right now it seems like he can't get another. John says he's failed Roman, and he's sorry. Out in the hall Hope asks for a piece of paper, she gathers some seeds from John's back pack and Dr. Rofle recognizes the seeds as ones from the flower! Dr. Rolfe isn't sure if he can complete the cure because there may not be enough seeds.
In prison Jack is pacing his cell damning T.C. for hurting Jennifer. Jack knocks something off his shelf and T.C. tells him to clean up the mess he made. T.C. leaves and begins thinking about Hope/Jen and realizes something isn't right. T.C. asks one of his guard friends to break into the warden's office and get him the phone number for the new guard, he has to check up on her.
Jen shows up for work and Jack tells her she has to quit this job, but Jen says she's not giving up until she gets him the codes for the wardens computer. Suddenly Jen notices that she's lost her prison name tag, but doesn't think it will cause a problem.
Meanwhile T.C. get's Hope's number and he calls Jen's house, where Travis is! Travis hears T.C. leaving a message so he answers the phone and asks why he's calling here? T.C. says he was calling for Hope, but Travis says this is Jennifer Devereaux's house! Travis then sees Hope's name tag on the floor!
At the hospital Marlena and Eric find Roman discussing his will with Mickey. Eric leaves and Marlena almost leaves, but Roman asks her to stay, they need to talk about something. Roman says they need to talk about the funeral. Roman talks about how they had bought joining cemetery plots when they were married and he says he'd like to be burried there. Roman signs some papers and says he wishes he could leave his kids a sense of confidence about themselves, especially Sami. Roman tells Marlena he knows that she feels responsible for Sami's actions but he tells her not to be, her relationship with John was over a long time ago.
Out in the waiting room Caroline asks Eric if something is wrong, and Eric asks her for some advice. Eric asks Caroline if he should break a promise he made to his father, if it wasn't in his father's best interest. Caroline just says he's a good man and she's sure he'll make the right choice. Eric goes in to see his dad and asks him to let him tell Marlena that he (Roman) wants to remarry her. Roman tells him no way! He will not allow Eric to tell Marlena his wish.
Meanwhile Marlena confides in Caroline that Roman still wants to be buried next to her. Marlena says she would do anything for him, but Caroline says she (Marlena) needs to do what is best for her as well. Caroline goes in to see Roman and she sings him to sleep. Outside the room Eric tells Marlena what Roman's last wish is!
In the jungle Dr. Rolfe is looking at the seeds that Hope found. Both Stefano and Dr. Rolfe are talking about how smart it was of Hope to find the seeds and Kristen has a temper tantrum that they keep talking about Hope. Stefano tells her to calm down but Kristen says she wants this cure done so they can get out of this compound before the natives break in and kill them all! Stefano complains that if this doesn't work he'll never get his pardon and he wishes John could have brought back the whole flower. Kristen than blasts Stefano for being so jealous. Stefano tells Kristen to relax, Dr. Rolfe needs to work in a calm atmosphere. Kristen says she's just angry that Hope was the one who nurtured John when it should have been her. Stefano tells her she missed the entire point, it was Marlena who he thought he was with. Stefano then talks about Marlena and says that he has a plan to make her his. Kristen asks what his plan is and Stefano tells her the first part of his plan is to become part of main stream society. Stefano says everything depends on the cure, because it will make him a free man. Dr. Rolfe tells Stefano phase one of the cure is complete. Suddenly and explosion goes off and a guard tells Stefano that the natives are using a crude form of gunpowder to attack the compound!
John wakes up from his nap to find Hope sitting with him. Hope goes to get John some food, but he tells her he remembers something about last night. John says he's positive that Marlena was here last night and asks Hope where she is. Hope tells him that Marlena wasn't here, it was a dream. John still doesn't believe her so Hope tells him that she was pretending to be Marlena to save his life. John and Hope hear the explosions from the natives and Hope wants to go find out what happened. John asks Hope if his mission was a failure and Hope tells him not totally, they did find some seeds Dr. Rolfe is using. John tells Hope he owes her his life, and tells her that he wants to repay her by searching the compound to find out what Stefano is hiding here. Hope shows John the closet with the baby toys and clothes and then they move to the next room, the one with the table. However this time there is a deadbolt on the door, and Hope says it wasn't there before! John then begins to try and pick the lock.
Back at the lab Dr. Rolfe is ranting about how these explosions could ruin the cure. Stefano tells Rolfe to keep working and he leaves to stop the natives. Kristen than asks Rolfe if there is enough of this stuff to make a cure, or will Roman die? We never hear an answer, Stefano returns to the lab and says the hologram machine has stopped the natives. Dr. Rolfe then tells them that there is not enough seeds to make the cure. Suddenly Rolfe realizes he has another, older beaker with some of the cure and says maybe there is enough materials to make the cure.
