January 2000 Week 3

Due to a mis-hap, I lost my summaries for this week. These are NBC's Summaries.

Monday 1/17/00
Greta is hit especially hard when she learns that "Hope" didn't make it. Greta blames herself, but Bo says it isn't her fault. Later, Eric and Greta head to the park. He tells Greta that if she wants to move forward with her life, she can't go back to Europe. He shows her the apartment ads he's circled, but doesn't push it. If Greta's going to stay in Salem, she's got to decide for herself... Sami presses Brandon for information about his past, and he finally starts to open up. He tells her that when he was in the ring fighting Austin, he was also fighting the demons inside. Brandon says he isn't going to give up until he gets rid of them. Sami wants details about these "demons." Will Brandon tell her? Hope awakens from her slumber and tries to connect with Bo. She knows he and Shawn are hurting right now, and she vows she will make it back to them no matter what it takes... After everything that has happened with "Hope," Marlena tells John that she's going to give up her practice. John tries to dissuade her. Even though Bo may think it, what happened to "Hope" is not Marlena's fault. Later, Belle stops by with news that "Hope" passed away. Marlena and John are hit hard. Lexie joins them and says that "Hope" wouldn't have lived much longer anyway. The x-rays showed that she had lung cancer. John and Marlena are completely shocked... Bo is by "Hope's" side until the very end. There isn't a dry eye in the house when she finally passes on. Family and friends gather at the Brady pub to mourn "Hope." But Bo doesn't stay very long. He visits with Shawn, and they vow to take care of each other now that "Hope" is gone. Later, Bo heads out to the park where he and Hope used to always swing. He looks up to heaven and tells Hope that he needs her in order to get through all of this...

Wednesday 1/19/00
Chloe's first day at Salem high proves to be one she'd like to forget. Jason and the other kids poke fun at her, much to Belle's dismay... Sami is worried when Austin says he's seriously considering getting back into the ring. He assures her that he isn't going to let anything happen like before. Next time he steps into the ring, he'll know his opponent inside and out. Later, Sami, again, tries to get Brandon to open up about his past... Austin finds himself in the middle of an intense argument between Brandon and Nicole. Brandon is trying to convince Nicole to see their mother, but she refuses. Austin intervenes and Nicole lashes out at him, telling him to mind his own business. Later, Austin runs into Roman at Salem place. Roman asks him the million dollar question: are Sami and Austin together for the sake of Will? Or is Austin falling in love with her? Nicole gives Greta some dating tips to help her with Eric. Nicole says that Eric is a man who likes action, so Greta shouldn't wait too much longer to have sex with him. Greta is shocked and doesn't know what to think. Meanwhile, as Eric goes through the photos from the lingerie shoot, he can't get Nicole out of his head... John stops by Marlena's office and presses her for information about her sessions with Hope. Marlena wishes she could help, but even though "Hope" is dead, Marlena still can't break the confidentiality pact. John, however, is determined to find out just what went on during those sessions. He later convinces Marlena to leave the room, and he secretly takes Hope's file from the drawer...

Thursday 1/20/00
At Dot.Com, Belle rails at her "friends" for picking on Chloe. As Belle takes off, Mimi says they're just having fun. In fact, Mimi is happy that Chloe is distracting the kids from picking on her... Nicole shows Greta the River Terrace apartments. Greta loves it and thinks it'd be a great place to live. Little does Greta know, this is Nicole's old apartment. Nicole does her best to "sell" the place. She knows that if Eric steps foot in the apartment (which Nicole used to occupy) he'll be flooded with memories of them... Marlena is shocked when she realizes that John stole Hope's file from her office. Meanwhile, John wishes he wouldn't have had to resort to stealing, but it's only for Marlena's good. He gets the file copied, then returns to the office in Hopes that Marlena won't be there. But upon arrival, Marlena is there and confronts him... Bo is an emotional wreck, having difficulty coping with everything. John stops by and asks Bo questions about "Hope." Bo says when he left Hope in Europe, she was making an honest effort to stay in touch with her Hope side. But then when she returned to Salem, they still didn't have any proof that the transformation took place. John thinks all arrows point to Stefano... Kurt returns to the castle turret and opens a small slot in the door to toss in some more food. Stefano and Hope anxiously dash to the opening. Hope makes an emotional plea to Kurt. She knows he's a good man, and that's why he's got to help them. Kurt is deeply affected. Will he cave in?

Friday 1/21/00
John is shocked when he reads "Hope's" file. He is struck with the upsetting memory of making love to "Hope" on the submarine. Marlena notices John's distress and calls him on it. She wants to know if he's remembered anything. John, not wanting to break his wife's heart, opts not to tell her the truth about his lovemaking session. He assures her the past is the past, and his future is with Marlena. But we get the feeling Marlena thinks John is keeping something from her... Stefano's hand is sore from Kurt's stabbing, so Hope offers to take her turn tapping out their S.O.S. Almost immediately, the radio station responds and encourages them to continue the signal so they can narrow down the exact location... There's an unlikely partnership as Abe and Victor decide to help each other find Stefano. Victor calls one of his contacts and learns that Gina Von Amberg chartered a flight from Salem to Europe on December 17th... the last day Stefano was seen in Salem. Questions arise which no one can answer, but Abe assures a concerned Lexie that they'll do everything they can to get some answers... Bo, Shawn, and Roman set sail on the Fancy Face II in search of a location to later scatter "Hope's" ashes. This is extremely difficult for father and son, but Bo knows he must be strong. After stopping at five different locations, Bo still isn't satisfied. He wants Hope's final resting place to be perfect, and he hasn't gotten any positive vibes yet... Doug and Julie sort through "Hope's" things from her hotel suite, but find it strange that she had so many unusual and un-Hope-like belongings. Lili tries to convince them that it was Gina who died, but Doug won't believe it. Finally, Lili comes up with an idea... Princess Gina had her appendix removed and Hope didn't. All they have to do is check the body for a scar. Doug thinks it's worth a shot, so he calls the crematorium in Hopes of convincing them to stop "Hope's" cremation. Easier said than done. Bo is the only one with that power. Will they find him before it's too late?
