Roman comes to see Bo, who is getting ready for his wedding. Roman thanks Bo for asking him to be his best man because it means a lot to him. Roman asks him if Victor will be here? Bo says no because he thought it might be uncomfortable for Shawn and Caroline. Roman wishes Bo luck, and then heads out into the church. Bo looks up at the heavens and asks God to help Hope recover and bury the memories of Princess Gina.
Shawn tells Doug and Julie that they have to stop this wedding. Doug and Julie ask him what happened? Shawn tells them about "Hope" and MArlena's fight at the Salem Inn, and he thinks his mom is nuts! Julie tells Shawn that they tried to talk his father into delaying this wedding, but he won't. Shawn tells them that with or without their help, he will stop this wedding! Shawn takes off, and Doug follows him.
Rolfe, still dressed as an Italian priest, arrives at the church and calls Bart. He tells Bart that Princess Gina is in Salem pretending to be Hope. He thinks it could be one of Stefano's plans, but he can't worry about it now. Bart tells Rolfe that he has to worry about John first. Rolfe hides behind some curtains and is armed with a gun!
John, Marlena, and Belle show up for the wedding after all. John talked Marlena into coming to the wedding, even though Marlena does not want to be here, and "Hope" doesn't want her here. Belle pleads with her mom to stay for Bo's sake, so she agrees. John, Marlena, and Belle sit in the back, and right in front of the curtain which Rolfe is hiding behind! Rolfe look his watch and tells himself that he doesn't want to kill John in a church, but if he must he must. John plays with his cut, and Marlena looks at it. John says that it feels like there is something in there. Doug shows up to get Marlena, so Marlena leaves with him to speak to him.
In the bride's room, Gina looks at her dress and says it is magnificent. Greta tells her mother that it is wonderful, but it isn't something Hope would have worn. Greta warns her mother that she can't keep being two different people, but Gina thinks Bo won't care who she is when they are married. Greta sees her mother's gun and begs her to put it away, but she insists it is for protection. Alice shows up to see "Hope" and gives her the earrings she wore when she married Bo the first time. Gina reacts oddly to them, and Alice asks her if she remembers? We see a flashback of Alice giving the earrings to Hope, and Alice asks "Hope" if she remembers who showed up? "Hope" says it was so long ago. Alice tells her that her Grandfather came in. "Hope" says it is too bad he couldn't be here today, but Alice says he is here in their hearts. Alice decides to get back into the church, and Gina admires the earrings. Greta scolds her mother for treating Mrs. Horton like a stranger, but Gina says she has more important things to deal with. Doug, Julie, Marlena, and Shawn all show up to see "Hope," and Doug asks Greta to excuse them. "Hope" tells Greta to stay. "Hope" thinks Marlena has come to cause trouble again, but Shawn says this was his idea. Shawn tells "Hope" about his special relationship with his father, and how much his father has taught him. Shawn tells "Hope" that even though he's turned his back on his dad these past few weeks, his dad never gave up on him. "Hope" says his dad is a wonderful man, and she loves him. Shawn asks her to postpone this wedding if she really loves him as much as she says she does. Doug tells his "Princess" that he treasures her, but Stefano has hurt both her and Bo. He tells her that he knows she wants to remarry Bo, but he believes she should wait until she is fully recovered from the traumas Stefano inflicted on her. Julie tells "Hope" that Bo will always be there for her, even if she decides to wait. "Hope" tells Marlena that this is all her fault! Shawn says he heard her yelling at Marlena earlier, and that is not like his mother. Marlena assures "Hope" that she loves her and wants what is best for her. Greta tells "Hope" that they are right, she can't marry Bo tonight. "Hope" says that her heart is breaking because the people she loves the most are trying to stop her from doing what will make her feel well. She tells them all that she needs to marry Bo, and Bo will allow her to recover on her own time table and not theirs. She accuses them all of ruining the happiest day of her life because they are selfish. Bo knocks on the door and asks "Hope" if she's changed her mind? "Hope" tells Bo that she will be there, so Bo leaves. "Hope" asks Doug if she will walk down the isle alone? Doug approaches her and gives her his arm, and they head out the door. Julie tells Shawn to put on his tux and a great big smile, perhaps his father's love will heal "Hope."
Everyone returns to their seats as the wedding is about to begin. John's cut is still bleeding, and he suddenly becomes a bit woozy. Marlena worries about him. The wedding begins, as Greta walks down the isle. Everyone stands as Doug walks "Hope" down the isle, and John begins to suddenly have flashbacks of being shocked in the waters in Hawaii. As the priest begins to speak, John remembers being on the sub with Hope/Gina, and making love to her. John stands up and suddenly blurts out "I gotta say something!" From behind the curtain, Rolfe realizes John remembers, so he aims his gun at John's back. John mumbles for a bit, but then just says "lets get on with this wedding." John sits down, and MArlena asks John what is wrong? John says he just got carried away, that is all. Bo and "Hope" say the traditional vows, and as they do, John continues to remember more about what happened in Hawaii. When John slaps his neck, the chip falls out! John sees the chip and reaches for it, but Marlena stops him and says the wedding is over. Bo and "Hope" are pronounced man and wife. Rolfe quickly slips out from behind the curtain and grabs the chip, and they makes a run for it. Belle asks Shawn if he is okay? Shawn asks how could he be, his dad just made the biggest mistake of his life.
In France, Hope finds her old escape route, which has been sealed up. She wonders if she can reopen it, so she goes to work. Suddenly, Hope is overcome with a feeling that Bo is in trouble, and something bad is happening in Salem. Stefano continues to send an SOS, but the disk jockey at the radio station is sleeping and doesn't hear it.
Nicholas and Vivian show up at Tuscany, but Vivian thinks they should just go home an celebrate together. However, Nicholas wants to celebrate here with the people they love. Vivian vows that this will be the millennium she will be with Victor, and she tells Nicholas that he can have Kate if he really wants her.
At the Kiriakis table, Kate, Victor, Nicole and Lucas are celebrating the New Year. Kate wishes Phillip was here, but Victor says Phillip will be grateful one day when for the lessons he's learning now. Nicole can't believe Victor thinks Phillip should be grateful that he's working like a dog! Lucas quickly takes Nicole onto the floor to dance.
Victor and Kate argue over Kate giving Nicole 5 million dollars, and Victor suggests that they rub Nicole out to get the money back. Kate tells Victor that's not funny, but Victor says he's not joking.
Vivian and Nicholas say hello to Victor and Kate and decide to join them since the restaurant loss their reservation. Victor tells Vivian that it has been a long time since he's been up past midnight, and it feels wonderful. Victor says he even has a surprise for everyone later on. Vivian tells Kate that she must be tired of just sitting here, so she tells Nicolas to dance with her. Victor also encourages Kate to dance with Nicholas, so they take to the floor. As they dance, Nicholas tells Kate that he can't stop thinking about their kiss. Back at the table, Victor and Vivian reminisce about their New Years out on his luxury liner. Victor looks around, and notices that Kate and Nicholas are gone. Nicholas has taken Kate outside to kiss her, but after their kiss, she pushes him away and says she can't do this.
On the dance floor, Nicole gets drunk and makes a fool of herself, which embarrass Lucas. Nicole tells her husband that unlike him, she can handle a drink! Later, Nicole starts laughing at Celeste's hat, but she says she wants to buy it to show everyone how rich she is. Lucas refuses and tells her that she is going to embarrass them all.
Kate and Nicholas return to the party and to their table, as do Nicole and Lucas. Nicole starts telling Vivian how hideous her dress is, so Victor and Kate tell Lucas to take Nicole home. Lucas asks Nicole to wait for him near the entrance while he goes to get the limo, but Nicole decides that she needs one more drink. Nicole goes to the bar, and then starts asking Celeste where she got that really bad accent? She then starts picking on Ivan and calling him a Russian. Celeste tells Ivan not listen to that piece of trash, and she ends up slapping Nicole! Nicole grabs Celeste's hat, and the two get into a huge catfight!
At the Penthouse Grill, everyone has gathered for Bo and "Hope's" reception, but nobody is in the mood to celebrate. Belle tries to cheer Shawn up and asks him to try and be happy for his parents, but Shawn says he can't. He vows to prove that woman is not his mom, and he asks Belle to help him. She agrees, but doesn't know what she can do.
Marlena tells John that first thing in the morning she wants X-rays on his cut, so he agrees. He admits that it has been bothering him, which upsets Marlena. John tells Marlena that he felt like something was inside his neck, and at the wedding he thought that something fell out. He also says he's been having strange thoughts. MArlena asks him what type of thoughts? John thinks about the sub- sex, but suggests they not talk about it right now. Later, John remembers more of the sub-sex and suggests to Marlena that they go outside and talk. Outside, John asks MArlena if he said anything to her on the beach in Hawaii? Marlena says she's been asking him these questions for months, but he could never remember anything and refused to talk about it. MArlena tells John that there is someone who might be able to help him, and suggests he talk to "Hope." John realizes that "Hope" told something to Marlena during one of their sessions and asks what she told her? Marlena tells John that she can't tell him anything, but if he wants to know what happened on their honeymoon, then he must talk to the bride. John is stunned. Suddenly, Lexie and Abe show up, and John makes an appointment with LExie to see her tomorrow about the cut on his neck.
Outside the bathroom, Bo talks with Roman and admits that marrying "Hope" today didn't feel the same as it did the first time. He tells Roman that he felt like he was talking to a stranger today. In the bathroom, Gina lights up a cigarette and tells Greta that she told her she could pull it off. Greta tells her mom that everyone knows she is not Hope, and once Bo learns the truth, they will both have to leave Salem and she will lose Eric. Gina asks her daughter if it would make her happy if she left Salem and her for another 10 years? Greta apologizes and hugs her mother, and asks her never to talk about leaving her again. Gina also apologizes for snapping at Greta. Gina tells her that everything will be all right, and she suggests they go out to the party.
Gina runs into Bo outside the ladies room, so Roman decides to introduce the couple to their party guests. After they are introduced, Gina uses Lily's cellphone and calls Kurt to check on things, and Kurt says everything is fine. Gina asks Kurt to call her back later. A spying Shawn sees his "mother" on the phone, and tells Belle what he saw and overheard. Later, Bo notices that "Hope" has a phone in her hand and asks what is with it? "Hope" hands it back to Lily and thanks her. Shawn and Belle are still spying on "Hope," and Shawn tells Belle that he needs her to help steal Lily Faversham's phone.
Belle talks with Lily to distract her while Shawn steals her purse. After Belle leaves Lily, Lily says she hopes that girl isn't on drugs! Shawn hands Belle the phone and tells her to press redial and pretend that she is his mom. Shawn tells her to just say "Are you sure everything is all right?" because that is what his mom said earlier. Belle asks him then what? Shawn tells her to just play it by ear, and then he hits the redial button. Kurt answers the phone, so Belle asks if everything is all right? Kurt tells her "yes princess!" Belle tells Shawn what the man on the phone just called her.
Roman announces the bride and groom's first dance. Bo and "Hope" dance to their song, and John, Roman, and Marlena talk about the "happy" couple. After Bo and "Hope" finish their dance, the others join in.
In France, Stefano tells Hope that he hopes help will be on its way soon. Hope hopes he is right because she has a feeling that something terrible is happening in Salem. Bo starts thinking about her wedding, and wonders why she's thinking about it now? Hope asks God to please get her out of here before it is too late.
At the mansion in the living room, Brandon calls his mom to wish her a happy new year when Sami sneaks by wearing a green silk nightgown. Brandon spots her and asks her what she's doing here instead of the wedding? Sami says Will wasn't feeling well, so she and Austin stayed home with him. Brandn thinks that is a convenient way out of the wedding, which he thinks would have made Sami worry that she and Austin would never marry. Sami says that her relationship with Austin is based on a deep understanding and respect for one another, but Brandon doesn't buy it, especially considering what she is wearing. They end up arguing about Sami's past schemes, and Brandon tells Sami that he understands her and is a lot like her. Sami says that not a lot of people would admit to being like Samantha Brady. Brandon says that Samantha Brady is one hell of a woman. Nicole and Lucas storm into the room arguing about what happened at Tuscany at this point. Brandon tells them that they shouldn't be fighting they should be celebrating. Sami says she's going to celebrate the new year by getting full custody of Will! When Lucas tells her to just try it, Nicole suggests they cut the brat in two and call him twins. BRandon tells Nikki to apologize, but she says it was just a joke. She then comments that she should just take her money and run like hell. Lucas and Sami look at her, and Lucas ask her what money? Brandon tells Lucas that when he married Nicole, half of his money became hers. He warns her that he shouldn't let his sister drink so much, but Lucas says he can't stop her. Lucas and Nicole head up to bed, and Sami asks Brandon to come clean with her about why Nicole really married Lucas. Brandon says there is nothing to say, which angers Sami. She tells him that her opening up to him, but him not doing the same is no way to make a friend! Upstairs, Lucas continues to question Nicole about her comment, but she wants to forget about it and make love instead.
At the Penthouse Grill, Bo and "Hope" are still dancing as the guests talk. Doug, Julie, and Alice notice that Bo isn't looking very happy. On the dance floor, "Hope" asks "Bo" to come back to her. John cuts in and asks to dance with the bride, so John and "Hope" share a dance, as do Bo and Marlena. As John and "Hope" dance, John questions her about her whereabouts during his honeymoon with Marlena. "Hope" tells John that she suggests he forget all about his past and Princess GIna. Bo and Marlena dance, and Bo tells MArlena that he feels he married a stranger, and he feels that Hope is in danger and he doesn't know how to help her. Marlena feels guilty and wishes she had done more to stop the ceremony. After their dances end, Marlena asks John what "Hope" said? John says that she has marriage on her mind and isn't making much sense. Later, John tells himself that no one can find out that he and "Hope" made love on his honeymoon.
Eric confronts Greta and asks her why she is so jittery? Greta claims that being maid of honor has just made her very nervous. Eric tells Greta that he knows she is an honest person, but he knows that she and "Hope" have some secret, which he'd like to know about. He asks her to please tell him what is going on.
Belle calls Kurt, who tells the "Princess that everything is fine." Belle asks him what he called her? Kurt panics and hangs up. Shawn is positive that his mom is still Princess GIna. Suddenly, Lily demands to know what the "children" are doing with her purse! Shawn says the waiter found the purse, and they noticed it matched her ensemble, so they wanted to look for her to return it. Lily buys the story and thanks them. After she leaves, Belle tells Shawn never to ask her to do something like that for him again because her career in crime is over. She also says that her dad was right, he is trouble!
Gina blows Doug's request for a dance off and talks to Lily. She tells her that Bo is very distant and she fears he will never accept her as Hope. She says that Shawn is also causing her problems as he is putting doubts in Bo's head. Lily warns Gina that she should divorce Bo and return to Europe with her and Greta. Gina asks Lily if Greta suggested this to her? Lily says no, but Greta is a bright girl and knows this marriage wasn't meant to be. Gina realizes she is right, and agrees to go pack her things. However, she says she has to settle an old score first! When Lily leaves to start packing, Shawn approaches "Hope" and tells her that it won't be that easy. Gina is shocked when Shawn says he overheard everything she said, including calling him an obnoxious runt. Gina says that they shouldn't talk here, and suggests they go out onto the terrace. After they leave, Bo begins searching for his "wife," and Belle starts searching for Shawn.
Out on the terrace, Shawn tells his "mom" that he won't let her hurt dad or anyone else. "Hope" tells Shawn that she is a sorry excuse for a mother, and she is sorry. Shawn tells her that she should go back to therapy and get help, but Gina says she is going to help herself! Gina pulls a gun on Shawn and orders him to climb up on the ledge. Shawn tells his mom that she's nuts because they are twenty stories up! She tells him that if he really wants to help his father than he'll do as she says or his father will die! Shawn gets on the ledge, and asks his "mom" to put the gun down. Gina says she will, after he jumps! Shawn tells her that she is crazy! Gina tells him that if he doesn't jump, she'll shoot him! However, if she has to shoot him, she has to shoot his father to make her escape. Shawn asks his "mom" why she is doing this? Gina says she has no intentions of ever being locked up again. Shawn tells his "mom" that he knows she thinks she's Princess Gina, but Gina tells him that she is Gina, and if he doesn't jump, his father is a dead man! Shawn refuses to jump and decides to get down, so she shoots at his foot, and he falls! MArlena shows up and screams "no!" Gina points the gun at her and tells "Doc" that she is next!"
In France, Stefano hears something over his radio and believes someone is receiving his signal, but the guy at the station stops receiving the SOS. Stefano looks at his radio and realizes that his wire burned out, so he has to fix it again. Suddenly, Hope realizes that Shawn D is in danger.
Back at the teens table, one of the kids tells Phillip that Chloe was looking at him in an odd way. Phillip is only interested in Belle, but she's at that boring wedding reception. Mimi tells him not to worry about Belle because Shawn is there with her. Mimi tells Phillip that Shawn and Belle really do like one another, and they have to do something to stop it! Mimi tells Phillip that she thought he had Belle and asks how he blew it? Phillip says he's just been preoccupied, but it is a new year and he's feeling energized now. He swears that tonight will be Shawn's last evening with Belle! Phillip then gets a call from someone and tells the gang that he has to go, and the others wonder what is wrong. Phillip goes out to the alley and meets up with his bookie, who apologizes to him for beating him up. The bookie tells Phillie that he didn't know he was Victor's kid, and if he did, he never would have touched him.
At the Penthouse Grill, Abe senses something is bothering Lexie and he asks her to talk to him. Lexie tells Abe that she's worried about her father. Lexie tells Abe that her father promised to spend time with her over the holidays, but she hasn't seen him for awhile. Abe tells her that he's probably just busy, but Lexie wants to find her father and she wants Abe to help her. She begs Abe to please track Stefano for her so she knows he is all right. Abe promises to make some call first thing in the morning, but Lexie wants to do it now. Abe agrees, but says they should say goodbye to the bride and groom before leaving.
Bo is busy looking for "Hope," and Belle is looking for Shawn. They are both worried as neither has been seen for some time. Belle finds Mrs. Horton and asks if she has seen Shawn? Alice says no, so Belle fills her in on the phone call they made and how Shawn disappeared afterwards. Alice tells Belle not to worry because she'll get to the bottom of this. John is busy worrying about Marlena and realizes that he can't let her find out that he and "Hope" made love, so he decides to find her and get her out of here. John and Bo run into one another and decide to look for Marlena and "Hope" together, thinking that they are probably together.
Eric is trying to get the truth about "Hope" out of Greta, but Lily interrupts to talk with Greta and assures Eric that it is very urgent that they talk. Lily and Greta go off and talk about Gina's new plans. Lily tells Greta that Gina has realized the marriage isn't working and she's agreed to leave Salem and return to Europe. Lily wants Greta to return to Europe with them to help her mother recover, but Greta doesn't look very thrilled about the idea of leaving Salem. However, she agrees to leave with her mother, and Lily tells her that they will leave tonight, tomorrow at the latest. After Greta leaves to say goodbye to Eric, Alice, with Belle by her side, confronts Lily about "Hope's" call on her cell phone earlier. Alice demands to know why the man "Hope" called called her Princess? Lily says she has no idea what is going on, but then she soon realizes that Belle and Shawn did steal her purse and phone. Alice says what happened doesn't matter, what matters is who "Hope" was talking to and why he called her Princess. Lily tells Alice that she hasn't the foggiest idea, and the last thing "Hope" needs right now is an intrusive grandmother! Alice tells Lily that she is the intruder here and her acting like "Hope's" body guard has got to stop. ALice tells Lily to get out of her granddaughter's life and go back to wherever it is she came from! Lily tells her that is exactly what she intents to do.
Greta returns to Eric and is in tears. He doesn't understand what is wrong. Greta tells Eric that there is something she has been keeping from her, she's leaving for Europe. Eric is shocked and asks her why? Greta says it is just something she has to do, and she asks him not to make it any harder than it already is.
On the balcony, Marlena witnesses Gina shoot at Shawn's feet, causing him to fall over the edge, and then Gina points the gun at Marlena and tells her that she is next! Marlena can't believe she killed Shawn, but Gina tells her that this is her fault for not shutting her mouth and minding her own business! Gina tells Marlena that she plans on killing her as well, but she doesn't know how to explain their deaths. However, she soon comes up with a grand excuse. She will tell them that Shawn was depressed and threatened to jump, and when Marlena showed up and tried to help. Unfortunately Shawn jumped, and took her with him! Gina tells Marlena that everyone will believe her and feel so sorry for her that they will stop questioning her about being Gina. Gina then orders Marlena to jump off the ledge. John and Bo show up and spot the two out on the balcony. Out on the balcony, Marlena tells Gina that she won't jump, so if she wants her dead, she'll have to shoot her! John goes out to talk to "Hope" and asks her to give him the gun. Gina calls John a pathetic hero. John suggests they talk and work this out, but Gina says Marlena has destroyed her future with Bo and she must pay for it! Marlena tries to tell John about Shawn, but Gina warns her that if she doesn't shut up then she will shoot the both of them. As they talk, Bo tries to find a way to sneak up on "Hope." Gina tells John that if he had just loved her none of this would have happened, but he chose Marlena. She tells John that he cannot save her, and he cannot save Marlena! Gina aims the gun at Marlena, and a little "ptew" sound occurs. John runs to Marlena and screams "What have you done!" Suddenly, Bo springs out and wrestles with Gina in order to get the gun from her. Suddenly we hear another "ptew" sound, and Bo realizes that "Hope" has been shot. Roman, Lexie, and Abe show up, and Abe calls for an ambulance. Marlena is out cold after being hit. Gina has been hit also and is bleeding. Nobody has noticed that Shawn has fallen to the ledge below and is unconscious and in danger of falling a lot farther to the street. John carries Marlena inside, and Belle freaks when she learns her mom has been shot. Bo brings "Hope" inside, and tells everyone that she shot Marlena, and then when he lunged for the gun it went off and shot herself. Marlena comes to and tries to tell everyone about Shawn. They think that she is talking about her purse falling off the terrace, so Belle says she'll go look for it. Belle goes outside and she hears Shawn moaning. She looks over the ledge and screams when she sees Shawn lying there. She yells at him to wake up and listen to her because he's in danger of falling. Suddenly, Shawn begins to move, and a leg and arm dangles over the edge. Back inside, Lexie works on "Hope," but says that she is losing too much blood. The ambulance arrives for Hope, and Bo begs God not to let "Hope" die. Marlena mumbles to everyone that Shawn fell off the terrace, so Roman and John race outside. Belle begs her dad to do something. Roman yells at Shawn not to move because they are coming down to get him. Suddenly, Shawn begins to roll! Back inside, Lexie yells that "Hope" has no pulse and screams for the paddles.
In France, Stefano tells Hope that she needs to calm down because he has made contact with the outside world and he'll keep sending the signal until they are rescued. Hope thinks by then it might be too late, so she grabs a big old metal bust to throw at the window, but it doesn't even scratch it. Stefano tells Hope that the window is loaded with lead and not even dynamite could break it! Suddenly, Hope breaks down when she senses that Shawn has fallen from someplace very high. Stefano holds Hope and comforts her as she becomes weak in the knees. Hope tries to pull herself together, and Stefano tells her that she has to get a grip or she will hurt herself. He even says he'll tie her up if he has to! When she lashes out at him, she accidently knocks his radio off the table and smashes it!
