On October 1st, 1955, WHVH signed on the air in Henderson. WHVH would later become WIZS on September 1st, 1960. Once a black-formatted station, WIZS transformed into a country music format with lots of Henderson news, and now supplements its country with a variety of oldies, beach music and more community-oriented talk. The station operates fulltime with 1,000 watts.
