WAUG-AM 750 History

WAUG "Power 750" signed on in February of 1987 from the campus of Saint Augustine's College. The 500-watt station began with a gospel and inspirational format though the station has shifted to a more black-oriented talk/sports-intensive format in recent years. St. Augustine's College also operates a low-power television station W68BK, channel 68, which is known on-air as WAUG-TV. WAUG radio is a daytime-only operation, shutting down at sunset to make way for the 50,000-watt WSB in Atlanta.
