Each time we update the list we'll feature an album.  Not necessarily something particularly expensive, or even something exceptionally rare.  Instead, we try to find something slightly out of the ordinary, or at least something that's new and interesting to us.  Our original July choice was an LP by American author Richard Brautigan ("Listening To Richard Brautigan"), but it sold within a matter of hours, so here's our back-up selection:

Some three decades after they last recorded, the Dedrick clan have recently become critic favorites.  Go figure.  What makes it even more surprising is the fact these folks (two brothers and two sisters) have more in common with Feranti and Tisher than your typical rock band.  This is their second studio set.  Like the first, it's produced by Enoch Light and features a mix of originals (penned by brother Chris) and popular covers (Beatles, Mamas and the Papas, The Turtles).  How to describe it?  Imagine the Mormon Tabernacle Choir after being exposed to 40 hours of elevator music.  Got that imagine in place?  Well you're pretty close to these easy listening stylings.  Definitely a fascinating release for those of you willing to try something a bit out of the ordinary (it sounds great with headphones).  Favorite track; the haunting, dirge "An Elegy" which is dedicated to "Dwayne Arthur Dedrick killed in Viet Nam January 31 1968".
