    Where are you?

Where are you when they need you?
As the tears stream down their faces.
I look into their beautiful eyes everyday.
I just wonder how you could turn away
They ask about you every now and then
    They say "Where's Daddy?"
    "How's he been?"

I just don't know what to say So I just sigh and look away. What will I tell them as they grow? They will never understand, Why you left them this way Maybe this is for the best. But only time will tell. I just can't believe that you'd abandon them, that you would run away.

It's too bad they grew to love you.
It's too bad you couldn't stay.
But other things were too important.
You're supposed to be thier Daddy!
You are supposed to really care!
    Sometimes I see the anger in thier eyes;
The hurt they feel so deep.
They don't comprehend what is going on.

With every passing day they will see
That I have always been here.
    That I will never leave.
    Every bump and every scrape,
    Every tear and every giggle.

What you have done will hurt for a lifetime.
I ache for the pain they have yet to conquer.
One day they will see you
    for who you truely are.
    When that day arrives
I know I won't be able to take all thier pain away'
But I know that I will be here to help them face yet another day.
