Hidden Angels So many times Angels go unseen Hidden by the shadows sometimes it seems Yet sometimes they pass before us without a word And we only realize when they leave this world They come to our lives And some just pass us by But one came to stay for just a little while To help us all with his laughter and smile When he was young the children would pick and tease Just because he didnt talk just like you and me One day as the children taunted A young man stood by him undaunted A friendship was born from that day A love of family that will never fade away Through the years his protector was always near Like that Halloween night when he stood without fear While taking the guardians daughter for treats They came taunting him in the streets Holding the little girls hand The Angels guardian and he took a stand Even Angels like to have fun He loved the Packers, pool, and the setting sun Karaoke, dancing, Marlboros and Fries The rain and the birds singing in the skies He often showed his wings to those who could see Offering his shoulder to the children on which to lean He would shower them with love and laughter No other sound to him seemed to matter The children gave him drawing they had made Making new ones most everyday How they loved this Angel no one could see A part of them he will always be Yet at 34 God called his Angel home But we all know hes not alone For with him he has taken A piece of our hearts not to be forsaken Darrin L.
