| I Love You Too He glances up from his rockin chair His spurs and rope hang lifeless there Upon the wall of lost dreams Along with so many other things With each forward and back motion A long ago memory stirs his emotion A tear begins it's trail down an old wrinkled cheek He wipes it slowly away with his old tattered sleeve Years ago he was the best you see World champion on the rodeo scene Wasnt ever a bull he couldnt ride The only thing kept him ridin was his pride But the rodeos not what hes missin now a days What he sees hangs off in the distance a ways A simple picture, turned yellow and startin to fade Of a beautiful lady by his side, sittin in the shade He looks at his wore out boots and fights back the tears As his mind keeps on its journey back through the years He thinks of all the days wasted away on the rodeo road And of how each time he left, she begged him to stay home A crooked grin smoothes some of the wrinkles from his face As he begins to take another look around his place On the table are the faded roses friends left behind weeks ago When they last stopped in just to say a welcomed hello On the rack hangin lop-sided beside the door He sees the favorite hat that she always wore Over on the table next to her chair Lies the brush she used on her silver white hair He pictures her sitting there with that smile on her face And how everything seemed so right and in its place But now theres an emptiness that grows with in him And he knows that he will see her soon again He walks back over, takes her picture from where its been And tells her how much he loves and misses her once again Sits back down in his old rockin chair, and cries one last tear As the angels draw him closer, he drifts of to sleep, without fear She greets him at the pearly gates of heaven as beautiful as ever And his soul has been returned to itself to be together forever The Love and joy is brought back to him all fresh and new As she leans close to him and into his ear she whispers I Love You Too Darrin L.
