| The Letter I sit and read the words you've wrote Trying to control this lump swelling in my throat Visions flash before my minds eye Our walks, our talks, just you and I Remembering the dance we shared Knowing that very moment, you cared Looking into your eyes that night We made a connection that just seemed right But you were promised to be with another Leaving me to stand and wonder Wanting to kiss you at songs end Holding back till God knows when So I waited forever and a year And then one sweet day, your voice I did hear Asking me what you should do I answered, "listen to your heart, it beats true" Feeling you close to me but still too scared I just followed your eyes and I stared Deeply into them searching to see Maybe just a small glimpse of me I think I may have found more than I was looking for Perhaps a locked heart, should I unlock the door? Not sure of what we have or where it will go I remind myself to take it slow We all wonder, if I have the key Time will tell, but we shall see I do realize these feelings that grow And this much I wish you to know No matter where your heart my fall I will stand by you through it all For a true friend you shall always be And I'll do all I can to see you happy No choices are given here Your heart's direction I cannot steer Only you can decide where to go And when it's right, you will know God has a great plan for us all you see And only he knows what for sure will be He'll put the answer in our hearts After all, he's given us a good start You've brightened up my days and my nights With just your smile and wonderful light Making me laugh and act like a kid again Last time I did that, I don't remember when I can't promise you a life without some pain A life with only sunshine without any rain So let's walk together and see what may come But one thing I can promise is, I will not run Darrin L.
