CRASH!
Tannon's head snaps up at the sound of his office door breaking down. He gets up and steps around his desk, getting two third's of the way across the room before two men, both armed with handguns, step in and surround him from three feet away, their weapons drawn at the face of Tannon.
Tannon stares both of them down as a third man steps into the room and Tannons eyes widen slightly as he recognizes Michael Rivera.
Sonny Rivera
The mob boss and head boss of the Rivera Crime Family.
The head of the mob, his two henchmen and their two guns all staring down Slash Tannon as the camera fades to black.
Camera fades out.
One minute later
The camera fades back in to show the same scene as from moments ago.
Tannon looks at both of the henchmen and suddenly he flicks his wrists, extending two eight-inch blades that slice right between the arm and the torso of each henchman causing the two men to widen their eyes in shock. A split second later Tannon flicks his wrists again and suddenly Tannon has two .22 caliber-handguns out, each one two inches from the face of the respective henchman. The two henchmen swallow hard as they realize how their advantage has suddenly dissipated.
Tannon (his hands still aiming the guns but his eyes staring straight at Sonny Rivera): Call off your dogs Michael.
Rivera (smirking and nodding): Always the prepared one werent you Slash? Ok, boys, drop the guns. If Slash Tannon wanted you dead then you would be dead already.
The two henchmen go to pocket their weapons but Tannon suddenly flips his two guns back into their hiding spots and grabs the guns from the henchmen before they could even react. Tannon discharges the ammunition from both guns simultaneously and tosses the empty weapons back to the men, who pocket the weapons, visibly embarrassed.
Tannon (staring Rivera down): Sonny Rivera.
Rivera (equaling Tannon's stare): Slash Tannon.
The two men both break into smirks and step forward, meeting in a brotherly embrace and then a strong handshake.
Tannon (laughing): You always did have to make an entrance.
Rivera (nodding): I couldnt have it any other way.
Tannon (pointing behind Rivera): You do know that you will be paying for that door right?
Rivera (feigning fear): No wayits obvious that you have more than enough money nowadays to finance the payment of a new door.
Tannon: Yeah, finethis one is on me. So who are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb?
One of the two henchmen takes a step forward and Tannon looks at him questioningly before Rivera waves the man back.
Rivera: ThomasI would not do that if I were you. Slash is the best man I ever had in my organization and he could take you out quicker than you could ever imagine.
Tannon (ignoring the obvious flattery and getting down to business): Ok Michael, what is with this sudden visit? You and I have not seen sight or sound of each other since last Halloween.
Rivera (nodding and taking a seat in one of the chairs in front of Tannon's desk as Tannon sits down in his own chair): Yeah, I know, I heard about some TANNON Inc. coming into Seattle and just had to see if it was you or not.
Tannon (straightening his suit coat): It was.
Rivera (smirking and shaking his head): You seem to have done well for yourself. This business and your wrestling career, but you and I both know that there is a job out there that you were the best in, bar none.
Tannon (looks up and just watches Rivera closely): I was the best, and I still am, but I have no desire to return to your organization and I thought we settled that last year.
Rivera (holds his hands up innocently): We did, we didI was just hypothesizing. Soum, how is the wrestling going?
Tannon: I know there is something you are not telling me and I will find out what it is soon enough, but ok, I will humor you for now. The wrestling is going well, very well actually. In fact I have a match this weekend against some punks named Johnny Legend and Sid and I am going to take them apart in that ring and then not only take what is rightfully mine the Platinum Title from Phantasy, but their spirit as well.
Rivera: Now you sound like the Slash Tannon that I remember.
Tannon (enthused by the comment Rivera made): I am going to rip them limb from limb and then when one of them is in the middle of that ring and in a pool of their own blood I will watch as they look up at me with swollen eyes, broken jaw and torn face and beg me to show mercy. I will look at them, at their defeated form and then I will take so much pleasure in delivering that one final blow that will silence them forever. I will cover for the three seconds that it takes to end his business, to end his chance at being a contender, to end their career and if everything is working to my side, their life will end on that bloody canvas. I will finish them and then his company and that belt will be mine. (His face breaks out in a smile) How did that sound?
Rivera: Sounds like you still have a little evil in you after all.
Tannon (leaning back in his chair): More than you or anybody will ever know. Now, come on Michael, what can I do for you?
Rivera (his face turning serious): Ok, when you left last year my territory was basically secure. You had run Mikos Cordova out of my organization after he had shot me and you had taken over as the head of the Rivera Family. When you left Calgary and moved to California I took back control of my organization and things were going very well until mid-July when Mikos returned to town.
Tannon (sitting up, his eyes widening): Mikos is back?
Rivera (nodding and continuing his story): Yeah, he returned in July and brought with him four other crime families who have formed a union of sorts with Cordova called the Five Families and their only goal appears to be bringing me down. They already framed me for embezzlement and my financial assets within the U.S. have been frozen. I can leave the country and get my other finances but by leaving my territory I risk losing all my holdings.
Tannon (suddenly realizing why Rivera has chosen to visit him): So you decided to come to me in search of a financial backer for your organization?
Rivera (nods slightly): Are you willing to be that backer?
Tannon does not say anything, but rather gets up from his plush leather seat and walks over to the wall opposite of where his desk was. He took a copy of Starry Night off the wall to reveal a large steel safe encased in the wall. He turns the combination lock a few times and a click is heard as Tannon opens a duffle bag that lay on a nearby table before opening the safe. He pulled out a few dozen bundles of cash and dropped them in the bag. He then opened a large notebook from in the safe, turning a few pages through before recording a line of information onto a note card. He shut the bag and returned the book to the safe before shutting it and returning the painting to its rightful place on the wall. He walks back to the desk and hands Rivera the note card before dropping the bag on the desk.
Tannon (pointing to the bag): In there is $250,000 in cash and the note card has the number of a bank account that is held by Tannon Financing, my personal bank for lack of a better term. The account I gave you currently has $7.25 million dollars in it and that should help you along until I can get something more concrete set-up for you.
Rivera (looking at the card with a mix of amusement and amazement on his face): Slashthis isthis is a lot of money.
Tannon (waving him off as he sits back down): Nope, you were like a father and brother to me for two years and taught me so much and this is my chance to repay the debt. Also, as far as Mikos goes, I know I promised that I would never involve myself in that part of your world again; I will take care of Mikos Cordozer for you. He will no longer be an issue.
Rivera (standing up and shaking the hand of Tannon): Thanks Slash, I know you didnt want to do this but I want to thank you for changing your mind.
Tannon does not answer but instead leads Rivera and the two henchmen to his now-broken door before shaking the hand of his old friend again.
Tannon: Take care of yourself Michael, Ill be in touch.
Rivera: You too Slash.
Rivera leads his two guards out as Tannon walks out to Jennifers desk immediately outside of his office.
Tannon (speaking to Jennifer): I want you to schedule a second flight for after this weekend's Impulse.
Jennifer: Ok, where are you looking to go?
Tannon (turning and walking back into his office): Seattle. I have a score to settle.
The camera fades to black as Jennifer shrugs and picks up the phone to make the necessary arrangements.
