[Hans and I stood there, silent, still. He shot a glance at me. We both know why he was here, he had warned me about this only a short while ago. I knew he'd come for me, but not in a million years would I have though he'd come here. I mean, I, personally had only known about the fight for a few short hours. Which means he could only have known about it for an hour or two.]
[Hans took a few steps towards the door, but abruptly stopped as the bed room door opened behind him. He turned, and looked right at Stacy. She knew something was up as she didn't say a word, and just walked over by my side. Hans turned back around and began walking towards the door once again. Outside, standing in the rain, Kip Reigns was pounding on the door. He couldn't see Hans coming because the doors, and windows in the gym were as black as charcoal before hitting a grill.]
[Hans was about two steps from the door before Kip again puts his fist against the door. This time he didn't knock. This time he was moving the glass, but it was made to with stand almost a half ton of pressure so his fist didn't do too much to it.]
"Open up Pussy." He barked.
[Hans put the key into the lock, and slowly unlocked the door, and swung it open. Hans stepped up to Kip as soon as the door was open. Kip stood over him, because Hans was a short, but well built man. Hans showed no fear, nor did Kip, although Hans would have put Kip to the ground easily without even thinking twice about it, but still Kip stood there.]
"Can I help you." Hans said as he looked up at Kip.
[Kip and Hans exchanged glances, Kips was gruff, and mean looking, but I knew Hans had a smile on his face. He always did, not much could make that man stop smiling. Not even the ill-hearted will of a young punk like Kip Reigns.]
"I've come to meet your star grandpa." Kip replied.
"Now why would you want to do that? Can't you wait a while until you get beat by him in the ring?" Hans said.
"Beat? Ha! You have to be kidding me." Kip said.
[Hans looked back at me, and I was right, the smile on his face was large, ear to ear almost. He then shot a smile to Stacy, and then looked back at Kip.]
"I think it would be in your best interest to leave, before I really do let you talk to my "star"." Hans said.
[This comment disturbed me. This guy looked big in magazines, but in real life... He looked like a monster. Even in the rain he was wearing a white wife beater, with blue and gold shorts. I wanted no part of him right now, I still have a couple weeks to train before I went up against him, but right now I was far from ready.]
"Then I guess I'll stick around." Kip replied in a snobby manor.
"Thanks for stopping by." Hans said.
[Hans shot him one last smile, and began closing the door. Kip spit into the gym, and then stuck his hand in the way of the door. Hans stopped shutting it, and gave him a look. This look was not, however a smile. Kip was seemingly annoying Hans, and that was pretty hard to do. In the year I've been here I've not yet once seen Hans annoyed, or even angry.]
"I said..." Hans tried to say before Kip cut him off.
"And I said, let me meet your star." Kip replied with a flare in his eyes.
[Hans grabbed ahold of Kips wrist and pulled him into the gym. The big man lost his balance, and went tumbling to the floor. Kip looked up at him as Hans closed the door, and locked it.]
"Now you will meet my star." Hans said.
[Hans face was expressionless. No smile, no frown, nothing. Just a plan stare. His lips were straight and tight, and his face, other than the age wrinkles, had no creases. Hans took a few more steps towards Kip, and Kip began crawling backwards. He finally was able to get to his feet. He turned around and stopped, a look of fear spread across his face. Hans too had stopped, only a few steps away from Kip.]
[Fear was now upon Kips face. His heart was probably pounding as fast mine. Sweat was acctually pouring from my forehead, but then something happened that I never expected, from behind a pair of arms gripped my arm tightly. My heart has went from pounding hard, to hardly pounding in one quick second. My head turned, and looked down at her. She didn't realize I was looking at her, or even if she did she wasn't aknowledging it. Her eyes were set on Kip, and Hans, and I too looked back up at look at them.]
[They were still there, exchanging glaces, neither of them have moved. Hans was, as I later learned to be true, a silent assassin. Not the type that literally kills people, but his star was deadly on its own. Finally Hans broke the silence as he usually did.]
"I'll give you the choice to leave."
"O.."
[But Hans wasn't finished speaking.]
"And if you choose to do so, I don't want to see you back here again, and if I hear that you even look at my "star" wrong I will report you coming here to the league, and have you pulled, this time for good. Do you understand me?"
"Yes." Kips said in a scared tone of voice.
"Yes, what?" Hans asked.
"Yes...Sir?" Kip added, hoping that sir was what he was looking for.
[Hans turned around and walked toward the doors. He took out the key once again and unlocked the doors. He opened one of them, and held it open for Kip. Kip shot me a glance, but he was too scared to make it a threatening one as he turned and walked out of the door, and then on down the street.]
[Hans shut the door and locked it once again. It was just the three of us once again. We were silent. None of us really knew what to say. Finally Hans stuck his hands into his pocket, and pulled out a wad of bills. On top there was a twenty, and then he looked through the money, counting it. To me, at the time, it seemed like alot of money. Two hundred dollars of cold hard cash. Sitting there in Hans hands. He folded the money back up, and put it in his pocket.]
"Pizza anyone?" Hans asked.
[Stacy looked up at me, and slowly removed her grasp from around my arms. I exchanged a glance with her, and then looked at Hans.]
"Sounds good to me." I said.
"Yeah." Stacy said.
"Grab your jackets." Hans said.
[Stacy went back into the room, and I went over to the coat hanger, and grabbed my gray hoodie that was hanging up there. I slid it on over my t-shirt, and after it was on patted my head trying to fix my hair.]
"Oh I wouldn't worry about your hair Slash. It will be messed up by the time you get to the pizza parlor." Hans said.
[I was stunned. I wasn't sure weither that was a perverted comment or not, and if so, why would he be making the comment about me, and his grand daughter?]
"Huh?" Was all I could manage to say.
[Stacy was now out in the gym with her light blue jacket on, half zipped up. She gave us a smile, and then I looked back over to Hans waiting for an answer.]
"You're running." He exclaimed.
[I was stunned. How could I run that far?]
"Why?" I asked.
"Because we need to start your training. It's only two point one miles. By the time you're there the pizza should be just getting served. If you walk it you'll be in time to turn around and run home."
He said.
[I stood there in awe. Stacy couldn't quite believe he'd make me run that far in the rain by myself.]
"Well get a move on, we'll be leaving right behind you." Hans said.
[Hans walked over tothe door, and unlocked it. I walked over by him, and when the door was open stepped outside and began to jog.]
"Lets go." He said to Stacy.
[They walked out of the gym, locking the door behind him. They walked over to the old station wagon that sat in front of the gym. After a few tries it finally started and they were off. When they passed me I was only half way done with the first block.]
"Faster!" Hans called out as they went by honking the horn.
[This wasn't exactly fun and I had about two more miles to go. As I picked up the pace my thoughts raced. What if Kip does happen to see me running alone, without Hans? What will he do? I was extremly worried about this. Like I had said I wasn't anywhere near ready for Kip Reigns, and he has the reputation for starting fights earlier than they are supposed to. From that my thoughts switched to Stacy. Hans beautiful grand daughter.]
[When she clinged onto me a sign of affection or was it just because she was scared and had nothing else to hold on to? And if it was a sign of affection, and she had feelings for me, which I too had feelings for her, would Hans approve of the both of us seeing eachother or would we have to sneak around behind his back.]
[I couldn't let all this worry me right now though. I needed to clear my head. I needed to get focused... I needed to eat pizza, I was starving...]
~Elapsed Time~
[Finally I was there. I stopped running right in front of the pizza parlor. I was soaked. I reached for the door, and opened it. I stepped in side and looked around seeing if I could see Hans. I spotted him and Stacy in the far corner of the parlor. As I walked back through the crowd of people I was getting some pretty odd stares from all sorts of people. Young, and old. Finally I got there, and sat down, removing my hoodie I placed it on the back of my chair. The pizza was sitting in front of us. Only two pieces removed, and those were the ones that Hans and Stacy were eating.]
[I grabbed a slice of the pizza. On it was sausage and pepperoni. The two things I enjoyed most on my pizza. I took a large bite of it. Chewing it Hans began to speak.]
"I hope you had fun, because you'll be doing this daily, except you won't be getting pizza every time you come down this way. You'll be running here, grabbing a water, and a soda, and going back to the gym to begin training." Hans said.
[I gave him a blank stare, and then nodded. With a quick sigh I took another bite of the pizza. The run had been hell, and it was just the begining...]
