Lineage of Abuse

The humdrum cycle of transgression anger
Confined to the bloodline; none left to meander
To ill-use the gift of warmth and parenting
Displace it with frigid shrieks and scolding
A tumbling weed in the mind that continues to revolve
Pain on the brink of death, yet still needs to be resolved
Punished for acts that are hollow to the core
The mind aches of beatings, their bodies tender and soar
Over the pool of time carried through the seed
Burns the anger and ill patience that each use to feed
The motivation to inflict, the want to cause torment
Void of any ethics, absent of any sentiment
Reasoning must act as the tourniquet cutting off the supply
All the years of violence passed on now must subside
To the era of love staked in the clay of pain
Wipe away the tears and wash away the stain
