First Sight

She stood in front of large bright windows

Her immaculate hair whisking from side to side

Her smile had grace from highs and lows

A sense of new coming forth from the tide

She was thin and dark and her skin shinned of life

She could capture you with her words no matter how small

A feeling of wrenching lurked within that I tried to fight

That sensation of numbness and confusion for I was to fall

We talked of memories and unknown acquaintances

Strolling backwards through time and laughing it off

How I knew her siblings and somehow missed it

Now it was full circle and the landing was soft

We hesitated to endeavor in deep conversations

In fear that we both embraced the same ambitions

We are alike and yet still far apart with equal motivations

When her words seep out I feel drunk without inhibitions

To speak the truth for time is short and love is long

No matter where we dwelled and hope to transcend

Your love is righteous and can never be wrong

For my love is complete and its mixture I can blend
