Telebridge Booking: Yash

Meeting minutes: Nov. 4th, 2001

Attendees: Sirish, Vinod, Sandhya, Yash, Neeraj, Sreeram, Devesh.

Updates:

1) ASHA-DC treasurer sent out a check to RDI ($5,500 - $3300 from RDI and the rest from ASHA-DC)

2) Sreeram recieved checks from DC treasurer - is waiting for addresses for receipt mailing.

Tasks/Discussions:

1) Update addresses on yahoo groups. Can send Yash all the addresses if you want and he'll update it.

2) Yash to post telebridge details along with username and password - as well as address to mail checks (to Presi?). Will rotate the task of seting up the telebridge conference and taking down minutes. Since Yash has done his quota, I will set up the next telebridge conference next and finish off my share.

3) Talked about the structure to monitor RDI project. A new mailing list to be created that will include ASHA-DC folks as well as WAH folks - I guess Yash will create the mailing list - Sandhya to provide email addresses of WAH people and I cc'd these minutes to the respective DC guys.

Once the mailing list is created, Sandhya to send out an email to RDI (Ms. Malini and others ?), informing them of the ASHA structure - 3 seperate ASHA entities provided funding, but will be monitored via this mailing list that contains so and so (and we can add others from RDI to this list); since we are all quite interested in learning from the project, all communication will be via this mailing list and will be rotating the "primary point of contact" on a 3 month basis, with Neeraj being the first.

Also considered calling RDI - will smooth out the communication quite a bit (as it has with the STARS). Frequency suggested was around 2 months.

3) Web page discussion: Sirish to send Sudha a "heads-up" mail informing her that the star's group (Yash - lots of things for Yash to do) will communicate with her directly.

4) Evaluation of project:

Since the project is quite large in scale as well as monetary commitment, the evaluation template (nice job Vinod/Mona - apparently the template is finding users in Berkeley) needs to be tailored to suit RDI. Please review project details (http://www.geocities.com/rdi_web/) and mail initial comments regarding template to Devesh by next friday (Nov. 9th). Hope to have template ready by Nov. 14th.

Neeraj also suggested using regular site visits by ASHA volunteers as a means of monitoring the project - general consensus was that it was a good idea, but we need to make sure the volunteer is well "educated" :p about RDI and should attend atleast one of the monthly conference calls. Need to be careful about the projects not taking the comments of the site-visit-individuals as official ASHA requests (as per Sirish's experiences with DC projects).

5) Tracking interaction with RDI:

a) Use of a bulletin board structure to post all the email communications with RDI (and hopefully get comments from other people). Bulletin board to have a link on the website. Sirish to look into the setup of the bulletin board in the next 10 days or so.

b) Posting of meeting minutes on the webpage

c) Posting of a summary of the communications with RDI.

6) Miscellaneous:

Request from SKI on behalf of ASHA-DC: Could you please provide Sirish with the template used on the Star's web page: http://www.ashanet.org/projects/asha-stars/Temp_Projects_list.html?

Conference calls to be held on the first Sunday of every month - next one on Dec. 2nd

Neeraj planning to visit RDI in January.
