| LDRS 23 Geneseo,NY 7/3/2004 | AMW N3400RR | Peak altitude 4800' |
For this flight I used 4 x #4 shear pins and the charges
used were Drogue=6.75g and Main=8.1g
This amount worked perfectly as the NC remained
attached till it was supposed tocome off at 1300'.
These photos are of the first flight of the OE at LDRS 23 in Geneseo, NY on a N3400RR
Thanks to everyone who helped to make this a great flight.

Stories:
One great part of launches is the stuff that goes on behind the scenes.
We were on the field test fitting the nosecone. I have to tell you one thing about this NC first. The coupler section is all fiberglass and it was sanded, but not painted, so there was still fiberglass dust on it.
Well that being said it was me, Joel Rogers and Todd Moore trying to get this NC on. But, since we had the Ebay attached at the other end, and I had not drilled the vent holes yet, well lets just say some pressure had built up in the inner chamber.
Then finally the airpressure decided to escape, and with it it took a large amount of fiberglass dust.
Given that the tube is 4feet tall, and with the Ebay attached that makes it 5feet, the edge of the tube is face level. I think you understand where I am going with this.
The air escaped right into Todd's face. Now of course this is not funny at all. But it was Todd's reaction that had us all laughing.
Right after getting a face full of fiberglass dust he exclaims, "Christ! Your f#@%ing rocket just gave me cancer!"
Then there was the incident at the Days Inn bar. It must have been Thursday night, I was still finishing up the parachute which I sewed lines onto. So I brought the sewing machine and parachute into the bar. Many people were harassing me about that one. I wound up finishing the parachute at 4am Saturday, the day of the flight.
