| TWO ROADS | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Two men were traveling the highway of life, They came to the crossing of the way. A crowded highway so smooth and so wide, And the straight and narrow way. One chose the highway so smooth and so wide, The choice of so many before; He thought as he followed the multitude, "This highway will lead me to a beautiful shore." For awhile he merrily traveled along, So sure that he had chosen the right way. But farther along, he knew he was wrong; TOO LATE, TOO LATE, he heard a voice say. You are traveling the highway of sin, Following Satan instead of the light. You've chosen the highway to destruction and death, Instead of the pathway to eternal life. The other man chose the straight, narrow way, Not a glance at the highway so wide. For he had been warned of the danger ahead, By his wonderful Saviour and guide. Although the way seemed so rough and so steep, Not a doubt was in his heart. He knew his Saviour would lead him on, He knew from his side he would never depart. They traveled along the straight, narrow way, This man and his Saviour so dear. He could lean upon those arms of love, When his load was too heavy to bear. When they came at last to the journey's end, O the joy and great delight. The beauty there was beyond compare, For he had chosen the pathway to eternal life. |
