A  PLACE  I  WANT  TO  GO
I've never had a great desire,
To travel far and wide.
To see a foreign  country,
Or ride the ocean tide.

There's just one place I'd like to go,
One land I'd like to see.
I'd like to see the Holy Land,
Where Jesus died for me.

I'd like to visit Bethlehem,
See the manger where He lay.
And the garden of Gethsemane,
Where my Saviour knelt to pray.

I'd like to see all the places,
Where He healed the sick and blind.
Where He raised Lazarus from the dead,
And turned water into wine.

I'd like to climb the mountain,
Where He gave the Beatitudes.
See the mountain of transfiguration,
Where He fed the multitude.

I'd like to stand on Calvary's hill,
Even though my heart would break.
Thinking about the pain and shame,
He suffered for my sake.

Then I'd like to visit the tomb,
Touch the stone that sealed it there.
Remembering those blessed words,
"He is risen, He is not here."

If I could walk where Jesus walked,
While I'm still here below.
Maybe then I could understand,
Why He ever loved me so.
