From a full nights rest,
Do you say a prayer,
And ask God to bless?
Do you Thank Him,
For His beautiful day?
Or do you just get up,
And go your own way?
And what about the sin
That you have done,
Do you ask to be forgiven
Before this day has begun?
Do you Thank Him
For His wonderful plan?
Or do you just believe in
What you hold in your hand?
Do you Thank Him for His blessings
That He sent your way?
Or do you think you earned
What you receive each day?
May I suggest to you
As to what I believe,
That God has sent all
Good things that I receive.
He gives me sunshine
Each and every day.
He gives me enough rain
Before it goes away.
He gives me flowers
Just so beautiful,
He warms my soul
And makes it full.
He gave to me
All the blessings of life,
He gave to me
My wonderful wife.
He gave me fine sons,
That I'm very proud of,
He sent me grand-daughters and grand-sons
A new generation of love.
He gave to me
Daughters too.
So full of love
So sweet and true.
He gave to me
My Mother and Dad.
Two greater parents
I couldn't have had.
So my friend
I just wanted to say,
When you wake each morning
Thank God for each and every day.
