Unlucky Lane 13 Dream

I dreamed that I was driving along with a friend on the Ohio Turnpike, headed west towards Indiana. My friend in the front passenger seat told me about a news report he saw on TV that the 13th lane at a toll plaza is a bad-luck lane. According to him, thousands of drivers have had wrecks, and most of these accidents are fatal. He told me to pick any lane at the toll plaza, as long as it was not 13. A moment later, we came to the toll plaza, and I decided to pull up into Lane 5. After I paid the toll, I continued into Indiana, and I collected a ticket at the toll plaza there, this time at Lane 2. Suddenly, just as we had left the toll plaza, a breaking news report came on the radio that a deadly crash had occurred near South Bend, and it happened on the eastbound lanes of the Indiana East-West Toll Road. The report did not get too deep into details, but it did mention the "Lane 13 Curse" and how it was most likely a major factor in the accident. At the moment, I suggested that Lane 13s at all toll plazas be closed forever, due to the terrible consequences they bring, and my friend seconded that. Just as we were talking about this, in the westbound lanes where we were, an SUV flipped over and crashed into another car. I had to slam on my brakes to avoid the debris, and then we jumped out of the car to watch with everyone else. Paramedics and police troopers came to the aid of the victims, and a trooper determined that the SUV had passed through Lane 13 at the Indiana toll plaza. "Told you so," said my friend mockingly as I looked on with horror. "None of this would've happened if they had used Lane 7!"
