When The Riverdale Rising stars decided to do Zombie Prom as our 2002 fall show we were taking a rather large risk. Zombie Prom was an off Broadway show that is not known by many. It is a show that mixes Grease with The Rocky Horror Picture show, with the classic good girl falls in love with bad boy love story. The basic story behind this show is this, a young girl named Toffy, from proper family, falls in love with a bad boy orphan named Jony "no H" Warner. When Toffy's parents discover the relationship between these two, Toffy is forbidden to see Jony again. This is where the story gets a little fun. Jony, so upset about losing Toffy, kills himself by throwing himself into the nuclear power plant, but only to come back as a teen age zombie. When Jony is not allowed to return to school he and his friends fight for his re-enrolment.It is a constant battle between the students and Mrs. Strict who is completly against this young boys re-enrolment. The audience later discovers why in a suprise ending. Although this show was not well known, it was received surprisingly well by the community. Both cast and crew had a blast making this show what it was.
