1972 Yamaha DS7
In April 02, a sad looking DS7 appeared in our yard in need of a good home. Not having an example of this model in my collection, it soon found it's way into the back of my truck.
Before it came to me, it looked to have been used by some birds for target practise. So my first job was to give it a good clean.
These photo's show the bike in a cleaner state. I still need alot of parts but it's now looking more respectable.
Aug 02  I've now got a nice tank which makes the bike look much better.
Spring 2004 I have just changed the rear rim on the RD350 due to cracks in the side wall. That rim I have put on this DS7. The tyre is larger than stock but what the heck.
A front rim with new tyre was for my R5 but it too is now on this bike. The machine now looks alot better and is much easier to move around.
The original brakes were a real mess when I took the old rims off  but that problem is now sorted. The next job I have to sort out the carbs.
Late 2006 Update This bike is no longer for sale. I seem to be spending more time in Canada than I first thought. So along with the two DTs and the XS11, I will have something to play with, when I am there. Focus for now will be on collecting parts to get the bike on the road. A set of carbs, ignition switch and the carb to airbox joints have been aquired. As the better half (the girlfriend) wants to ride this bike, I will have to recover the seat. Also forkseals, plugs, points and condensors will be required. When the replacement carbs arrive, I will rebuild them. I have even found an air filter.
Once the mechanicals are complete, I will get it resprayed and spend some cash on a pair of tank emblems.
Who switched the lights out?
For Sale: In England I have a pair of silencers (140) and a set of front forks (100) surplus to requirement. Both in nice shape but not perfect.
