1972 Yamaha CS5
This is a 1972 CS5 which is in reasonable condition. I know it should be purple, and the seat looks as though it has been eaten by something, but it's a good addition to the collection.
I've now got a seat for this bike and have managed to find some stock coloured side covers and the tank emblems. The bike is on the long term list, so I don't expect progress for a while.
2nd September "03 I've spent the last week working on the bike. The following photo's show some of the fun I have had. The clutch side cover was removed to show parts missing from the kick start shaft and a rather mucky looking clutch. These have both been replaced and the cover refitted. I am in the process of replacing the oil tank, headlight bowl and brackets with original coloured parts, purple. The generator has been removed for  refurbishment. At the shop where I work, we have a parts CS5, so I'm hoping to recover some items to get the electrical system working again.
A recent photo (August '03) showing stock sidecover and tank emblem fitted.
The lower part is what I pulled from the motor. The top part is what was fitted.
Front wheel removed, I'm fitting stock coloured headlight bowl and brackets.
The oil tank has also been fitted.
This is the mess I found under the left hand side cover!
