Beginers Building |

If you just beginning building coasters and need help here is the place to come. The object of building a coaster is to have it be exciting but not too intense. Beginners need to start off small. Most beginners start off way too big building huge coasters with thousands of inversions and drops that the train goes through at 200mph (like I did). This will never work. You need to start off by building a small steel coaster. Don't use all kinds of crazy inversions. Maybe put in a loop or two. If you put a loop in the train connot be traveling too fast throught it, if it is there will be more G's and the intensity will go right up, and excitement right down. When the train is in the highest point of the loop it should be traveling at a speed of around 35mph. Never make the train go too fast through any inversions because if you do it will bring the intensity and nausea ratings up. Don't make any steep drops, and don't build it too high. Make sure you use banked turns if the train is traveling over 10mph. This will help with the G forces. With banked turns nobody will get squished. This helps the nausea rating also. A good coaster will have a excitement rating of "high" and a nausea rating of "low". Keep the intensity in between (medium). Try too keep the max vertical G's between 4 and -3. You need to be extra careful with the lateral G's, keep those under 2. If this is too high it will make the nausea rating go right up and a ride with a high nausea rating is a ride that lots of people won't want to ride. Again, always use banked turns to help with this. |
