Whitbourne Radio Controlled Superspeedway, is a Radio Controlled Model Car Racing club that first started organising regular race meetings in 2004.
Situated on the Worcestershire/Herefordshire borders, our track is located at The Wheatsheaf Inn, on the main A44 Worcester to Leominster road, some 10 miles from Worcester and 4 miles from Bromyard.
Last year, racing was held in the car park of the Wheatsheaf Inn, however 2005 will see us racing on our new purpose built track, situated to the rear of the public house.
We race outside on a Tarmac surface, using a mobile track layout.
This allows us to change the design of the track to accommodate different scale cars and race formulas.
We have so far created a standard Oval track, plus a large Tri-Oval Track, and in due course will be able to create a Circuit and Touring car track as well.
Our aims are to encourage young people to take an interest in scale model car racing, by supplying the facilities to race and take an active interest in this fascinating hobby, particularly in a rural area, where facilities for
young people are normally limited.
Drivers of all ages are welcome, from absolute beginners, to those with more experience.
Our facilities will be able to host many different formulas of scale model
car racing.
Already we have test run 1/8th scale I.C Hot Rods, Saloon stocks and Ascars, 1/10th scale Electric Touring cars, and Nitro powered 1/10th scale
Ascars, and 1/12th scale Mardave V12 Hotrods and Nastrucks, and 1/12th scale Electric powered Ascars.
And for those that like to race Indoors, you might like to know that we
have also started racing
Slot Cars at The Wheatsheaf. So if you have a Scalextric car hidden away in your attic, then why not join us for some fun racing on our new track?  - Please call us for details!
Although we are a very new club, we have already created a lot of interest in the area, and plan to involve schools in the area to take an interest in what we are doing.
The Track is Located at:-The Wheatsheaf
