My 7th plane "Jive"
NEXT  PAGE :
This is my (home made) mini-wing, Very fast & very very sensitive ..!
It's wing is 29.5 inches long, Really fun & can turn on a dollar !!
Can still fly in 15km/h winds & is great up close doing figue 8's.
I used micro servos to save weight & keep the wing thin.
I store it in a briefcase at work for those quiet days..!!
(I work 15mins from the slope site on the Beach front.)
Just to give you some scale
Origional size "Jazz" LEFT ..................
..................Modified Size "Jive" RIGHT
Here's a brief set of photos to explain how to cut the foam :
Firstly you have to have a delta wing,
(Jazz) is a good choice.
Measure all dimensions from the LE tips if your going to use the tips, OR from the middle line if you plan to use the middle section.
Now cut it, yes i know it's hard but you 'ave to.
I used my floor tiles as a guide, (see photo).
Cutting them paralell is
VERY IMPORTANT.
Now hold both tips together, place the tips outermost / shortest side on the
floor so they stand up,
If their not the same trim the taller one..!!
Now treat it exactly like a larger plane (eg Jazz),
Glue the new tips together,
Mark & cut out the electrics spaces,
(The batt. is on the CG & the Rx is in the nose),
Tape up as normal & your done.
I found that only 15% on my mixer is more than enough.
Now hit the slopes (or a lamp-post if your me)...!
