I don't have to put anything here, you know...in fact, some would say it's neurotic that I do...

Owen was home from school today. Is there a teacher in-service day at the middle school every week? I was off this morning, so we worked a bit on his homework, I uploaded some entries from earlier in the week, and finally, he played some of his Sim games here while I ran off to Burger King for our lunch.

I would add that today's Whopper was my first in a long time, and just another lapse in my resolve to reduce fat and cholesterol intake. I have let the holidays and a trip to the trough earlier in the week disrupt my low-fat regimen, but I'll get back on schedule this weekend, at least until the Christmas feasting. In the meantime, it's time for a walk to keep the fat from congealing in my arteries.

When you think of it that way, it's easier to pass up the fat.

Work was light today and Owen was a delight to be with. He is once again bringing home nothing lower than an "A" on his report card. I think that little achievement has reduced some stress at school for him. And it can't hurt his confidence to be the only male to have a solo in the choral program at school next week. Middle school is beginning to reinforce him the way he had grown accustomed to in elementary school, so the transition to middle school, although rough for him, has been successful, I think.

This entry will be thin because he needs some time online and I must prepare for a weekend trip into Kansas City, the home of Hallmark, in this Hallmarkiest of seasons.

Or these could be excuses from someone who has nothing to say at the moment.

Another day with no surfing.
Back Sunday or Monday
