The biggest news (to me) of yesterday was that Kinky Friedman is running for Governor of Texas. The Kinkster is a helluva writer, and was a funny outlaw country musician a while back. One of my regrets is that I had a chance for free to see him and the Texas Jewboys( his band) play and I passed on it as I had never heard of them. Later when I had heard some of their music I wished I had taken the opportunity. Still later when the band broke up and I began reading his books I was really sorry. This man can make you lagh and cry in the same sentence. He will one most unusual governor if he wins.
