Visiting Ratiborice - the Real Life Fairy Tale |
|
|
|
Most of these photos are at or not far from Ratiborice - that's grandmother's house in all the Czech fairy tales. Honza spent a lot of his time playing here as a kid, since his mother worked as a guide at a nearby chateau. And it does look like right out of a fairy tale! |

My friend Honza and Regina as we start our journey down fairy tale memory lane. |

This is the old mill just a stone's throw from grandmother's house. The wheels still work. They use wooden gearing. Back in the old days people used water power to generate mechanical energy. |

Here Honza and Miki are just approaching grandma's little cottage by road. |

Here's another pic of Adrspach. The Czechs have made several movies up here. |

Well after a nice long day of hiking nothing is more refreshing than skinnydipping in the mountain lake. Hey, Honza how's the water? |

We thought about adopting this pretty kitty, but Miki managed to talk us out of it. Such a jealous little bitch she is! |
